It was the day after we had performed in Brantford. We had already packed everything up, and we were heading towards Hamilton. We would arrive at Hamilton in about three hours. Right now, I was currently in my bedroom, staring out the window while sitting on my bed as all of the scenery passed by.
I was pondering what to do, so I stood up and walked out of my bedroom. There was a lot on my mind at the moment. For one, who was framing the circus? What would happen if the circus was shut down? Where would everyone go? Where would we go? Our mother wouldn't have a job anymore, so it would be even harder to support our family.
I sighed, and slid off my bed, standing up. I stretched my stiff arms and legs, then paced around the room, searching my mind for something to do to entertain myself. Suddenly, started to get a headache. I groaned. The headache got stronger until I couldn't bear the pain. I collapsed to my knees, and I tightly shut my eyes, my hands holding the sides of my head.
Time seemed to slow down. All movement and sounds came into my ears slow, a really loud ringing sound playing in my head, making me want to slam my head off the wall to get it to go away. I groaned again. I opened my eyes, and in front of me, was one of my friends from my old school, standing tall above me.
He had thick, black messy hair, and he looked stressed, with tears running down his face. He was in a plain, wrinkly, white t-shirt, and he was wearing black pants. Why was he here? This can't possibly be him- he's dead! Maybe this is just my mind playing tricks on me. Yeah, that must be it, because he had passed away in a drive by shooting. They caught the person who shot him, but still, he was dead. I was depressed for around 2 months before I finally got over him. He was my best friend.
"Angel..." he whispered, his voice echoed around the room, somewhat raspy. "Angel..."
"Go away! Stop it!" I gasped, tears stinging at the corners of my eyes. I blinked, and two tears rolled down my face, over my cheek, and it dripped onto my leg. "Stop..." I sobbed. "Stop please..."
"Angel... Please... Wake up..." he rasped, his voice again echoing around the room, his soulless eyes staring painfully down at me. "Wake up..."
"Stop it!" I cried. "Leave me alone!"
"ANGEL!" a new voice shouted, followed by fierce pounding on my bedroom door. However, I could not move to open the door. I was frozen in place.
"Wake up, Angel... We miss you..." he said, then the door burst open, slamming into the wall. He seemed to fade into dust particles, blowing out the open window.
I was engulfed in a hug. I saw that it was Adrian.
"Sh... It's okay, Angel." he soothed. I buried my face into his shoulder.
"Adrian... I- I- I saw Tyler standing there... In front of me..." I sobbed. He just rubbed my back reassuringly. Tyler was his name, and Adrian knew about how he died.
"Angel, calm down. You were only grieving." he soothed me. Slowly, I calmed down, and pulled away from him and wiped the tears in my eyes away.
"O-Okay I'm fine." I stuttered.
I noticed Hope, Caine and Raven were also in the room.
Hope went over to shut the window.
"How did you guys get in...? Wasn't the door locked...?" I asked.
"Yeah, but I had Hope go find Raven, and Raven casted a spell on the door lock, which unlocked it." chuckled Adrian.
I smiled slightly. "Thanks guys..." I thanked them, wiping the last of the tears away on my face.
"Anytime." Caine smiled.
"When I heard from Hope that something bad was happening inside your room, I came as fast as I could." Raven smiled, but then frowned. "If it isn't too much trouble for you, can you maybe tell us what happened...?" asked Raven.
"Yeah... Well... I was just standing in my room, when suddenly I got a headache. The headache then got really big, and it was really painful. I then saw Tyler, who was a friend from my old school and he had passed away, and he was saying really weird stuff like 'Angel, wake up!' and all that." I frowned.
"Wait, if he died before you were born, how did you know what he looked like?" Hope asked.
I rolled my eyes. "Pictures, silly." I giggled and playfully whacked her head.
"Oh, right." she giggled.
"So, what do you guys wanna do...?" I asked.
"Um... I don't know, actually. What do you guys wanna do...?" Adrian shrugged.
"Let's go get a midnight snack." I grinned.
"But it's not midnight, it's actually 9:55 pm." corrected Hope.
"It doesn't matter." I laughed and stood up. I walked over to the door, and the others followed me. I walked out, and Caine, who was last out of the door, shut it. I locked the door.
Once we got to the dining room car, we made our way over to the kitchen area of the dining room to look for snacks.
I rummaged through the cupboards until I found something we all would love. I pulled the bag out of the cupboard, and plopped it on the counter.
"Candy!" everyone cheered like little 5 year olds. I giggled. I reached into the bag and grabbed three peanut butter cups.
Everyone else grabbed what they wanted to eat out of the candy bag, then we put the candy bag back in the cupboard. We all then went over to one of the table booths, and sat down around the table, eating the candy.
"Peanut butter cups are amazing." I mumbled as I took a bite of one of them.
"I prefer chocolate areo bars." Caine chuckled.
"I like M&M's." Raven spoke up, and giggled.
I smiled staring around at everyone as we stuffed our faces with candy. Now these were truly wonderful friends, and I would be heartbroken if I had to leave them.
