I sat in my bedroom, laying on my bed, bored out of my mind. Adrian was sitting on the end of my bed on my purple, fuzzy blanket, staring at me expectantly. Almost anything that I owned was fuzzy.
"So, why did you call me up here?" Adrian asked, raising an eyebrow.
I waited for a second, then sat up, folding my legs crisscross. I stared at him for a minute.
"I think we should join the circus." I announced. "We could ask mother..."
"Do you really think that mother would let us join a circus?!" Adrian snorted. "Yeah, not."
"It's worth a shot, though. She knows how badly I want to join the circus, she's even said that maybe sometime a chance to join it will come around." I said hopefully.
"Well, I don't know for sure. I guess joining the circus would be a pretty exciting idea..." Adrian smiled slightly.
"See? I told you it would be a brilliant idea!" I laughed, pointing at him excitedly.
"Well, when should we ask her?" Adrian questioned me.
"I think we should ask her after her nap once she gets home from work, don't you think?" I suggested helpfully. "That way, she isn't tired, and isn't as stressed as she is when she usually gets home from work."
"I think that's a good idea." I nodded my head.
We heard the door open. "I'm home!" my mother yelled.
"Hello!" Adrian and I shouted downstairs to let her know we were still here.
I glanced at Adrian with a smirk on my face. "What should we call our plan?" I whispered.
"Hm..." Adrian pondered.
"I say we call it Project CI, short for circus!!" I exclaimed, and started giggling.
"Exactly how is it a project? Isn't it more like a plan?" Adrian asked, slightly playfully shoving me.
"Yeah, but Project CI sounds way better than Plan CI or Plan Circus." I laughed, shoving him back.
"I agree." Adrian chuckled, and he stood up, stretching just as our mother came walking up the stairs, stepping into our room to talk to us like she would normally do when she got home from work.
"Hi. I missed you." my mother stepped up to us, hugged me, then hugged Adrian. "So what did you do all day today?" she questioned.
"Oh the usual. Talk, go outside, watch Teen Titans Go on the TV with hot chocolate." I smiled, hugging her back.
"Yeah. She forced me to watch that Teen Titans Go show with her. She explained all the characters to me. I still find it boring. Reading is way better." Adrian chuckled, and hugged her back too.
"Okay. What was that thing you two were talking about as I came up the stairs? Project CIA or something like that?" she asked, curious.
Adrian and I froze, but relaxed as she misheard us, so I continued. "Oh, it's a project we planned to try. We are going to pretend to be CIA officers, and we are going to try and make armor and stuff like that to wear." I exclaimed, waving my hands in the air with fake excitement. I'm a great actor.
"Well then, I guess I'm going to take my nap now. Good luck on that project CIA thing of yours, though." my mother laughed, ruffling our hair. "I'll wake up around dinnertime. Angel, can you make dinner tonight?" she asked, turning to me.
"Uh, sure. What do you want to eat?" I questioned her.
She waved her hands in the air. "Oh, anything. Surprise me." She laughed, standing up and walking out of my room. "See you later." she stated, walking into her room and shutting the door.
"So. What should we do now?" I asked, turning to Adrian.
"Well, I'm going to read. Supper in an hour, so I suggest you start making the supper." Adrian announced, looking at the time on his watch.
"Okay, I guess that is something to do." I sighed, standing up. I walked down the stairs with Adrian, and walked into the kitchen.
I opened the cupboards, trying to decide what to make. "I'll make spaghetti!" I exclaimed.
"Wonderful." Adrian smirked.
I pulled out a pot, cleaned it, and put it on the stove to heat up after I poured some water into it from the sink. I then pulled the ground beef out of the fridge, setting it on the marble counter. I pulled out a pan, cleaning it in the sink using soap, and rinsing it after. I put that pan on the stove to heat, and opened the ground beef. I ripped the wrapping stuff open, and dumped the ground beef into the pan.
"Almost done?" asked Adrian. "I'm hungry."
"Shut it, I literally just started it 5 minutes ago." I snorted.
"Actually no. It's actually been about 20 minutes. You spent your sweet sweet time cleaning those pans." he laughed.
"Oh shoot!" I exclaimed, and I hurried up.
I dumped the noodles into the boiling water in the pot after breaking them in half. I stood back, and grinned at my accomplished work.
"I was only fooling you, you know that? It has been only 5 minutes since you started it." Adrian snorted.
My eyes widened in shock. "You... You..." I whispered,
"I... I... What?" Adrian teased.
"You idiot." I snorted, and stuck my tongue out at him. "You're cruel."
"Well, your not much better." I laughed, and then we waited until the spaghetti was done. I pulled it off the stove, and poured the noodles onto three plates. One for me, one for my mother, and one for Adrian. I then poured the ground beef on top of their plates, and added some cheese.
My mother came down the stairs, and took her plate to the table. I grabbed my plate, and Adrian grabbed his. We all sat down at the table.
"Did you know your cooking is delicious, Angel?" my mother asked.
"Oh I know. This is why you make me prepare food for guests." I grinned, sticking my tongue out at her.
"And I do that because your my special little girl, and Adrian is my special little boy." She smiled proudly.
