I sighed, sitting up and standing up from my bed. I scratched Smokey's head behind her ears where she likes to be scratched most, then made my way over to the closet. I threw on a pair of loose black jogging pants and a tank top with black ankle socks. I was going to go and practice with Doll on the tightrope. Well, we didn't really need to practice, we just needed to make up a different act performance to do on the big night on Saturday. On Saturday, we would be performing in front of everyone in Niagara Falls.
I slipped my black tightrope shoes onto my feet. I walked into the hall of the car, and shut my bedroom door and locked it shut. I hopped off of the train after I exited out the door, and I started to make my way down the path to the circus tent where Doll had told me to meet her to practice. I'm lucky I was used to the cold, or else being outside in what I was wearing would be horrible. Just plain horrible. I continued my walk down to the circus tent. When I reached it, I pulled apart the entrance to the tent, and stepped inside the huge circus tent.
It was surprisingly warm inside the circus tent. The tent was made with a special kind of material that kept out the cold, but kept all of the hot air inside the tent. I also noticed to the one side of the circus tent, there was a heater, which was 30 cm tall and 30 cm wide. I'm assuming it was around 20 cm in depth. The heater was blowing out hot air. I smiled at the warmth which was inside the tent. I bet it was warmer in the circus tent here than in the train, because it certainly felt like it.
I looked to the other side of the circus tent, to see Doll standing by the giant poles that held the giant tightrope up high in the air. I started to walk over to her, and greeted her, smiling politely. "Hey, Doll." I nodded at her, calling to her while grinning. I sped up from my walking pace, and started to run over to her at a full sprint. In about 8 seconds, I was over to her, and I stood beside her.
"Hey, Angel. So, let's get down to business. We need to figure out what we will do in the performance on Saturday night. Since we're in Niagara Falls, we should do something extra special, something that we haven't done before." Doll announced to me.
"Okay, yeah. I think so too." I nodded at her, agreeing. "So, let's get planning." I announced, and I started to climb up the ladder on the high tightrope. I heard Doll say okay and agree with me, before climbing up the ladder herself. I stood up when I reached the top, and Doll stood up beside me.
"I think we should do some gymnastics trick." I explained.
"Yeah. Maybe do a repeat of the handstand thing of what we did in your town, but this time, spice it up a little. Maybe do a cartwheel towards each other, and instead of doing a handstand, one can crouch and the other would do a flip over the crouching person!" Doll piped up, agreeing excitedly.
"Yeah, that would be amazing! Let's practice it!" I grinned excitedly, hopping from one foot to the other in excitement.
Doll crossed the tightrope to the other side, and stood on the wooden landing.
"Ready?!" She called to me.
"Ready!" I called back.
"Three, two, one...!" Doll cried loudly, and we both lunged towards the tightrope eagerly.
I grabbed it with both my hands, and with no hesitation, I threw myself forward. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Doll doing the same thing. When we were about 4 meters apart, I stopped our cartwheel, and I crouched. Doll continued to cartwheel towards me, and when her feet connected with the tightrope wire when they were about 1 meter away, she immediately crouched down, then sprung up, and did a back flip over me, then landed perfectly. I threw myself out of my crouch, and we both cartwheeled to the opposite side.
"That was fun!" I called to her, laughing.
"Yeah. Let's practice again tomorrow!" she called. I watched her slide down the ladder, and run out of the tent. I chuckled, and slid down the ladder. I raced out of the tent, smiling as a cold burst of air hit me. It really cools you down. I went to my room, hopping onto the train.
"Hey, Angel!" I heard Caine call as he raced up beside me to walk with me.
"Hey." I smiled at him. I opened my bedroom door, and he walked in with me. I shut the door once we were both inside.
"So what are you doing for the performance?" I asked him.
"Oh, just the usual Griffin flipping stuff with my mother and father. What about you?" he asked.
I smiled, and told him mine and Doll's plan of what we would do.
He frowned when I finished telling him. "Um... Don't mean to burst your bubble, but I think that's a bit dangerous. I mean, cartwheeling?" he questioned.
I shrugged. "I guess, but we never fall."
"I know you never fall, but I care for you! Like, what would happen if your foot or hand missed the wire?" he questioned.
"I'll be fine, Caine. Besides, we have the net below us even if we did fall." I smiled reassuringly at him.
We both smiled. "Okay, I believe you." Caine cracked a small smile.
Time seemed to stop as we stared into each others eyes. We both slightly grinned, and we walked closer to each other. I felt myself leaning in towards his face. I saw him leaning in too. Soon, our faces were centimeters apart. We smiled at each other, and both of us closed our eyes as we closed the gap between our faces, our lips connecting. It felt like amazing fireworks. I smiled against the kiss, and we pulled apart. Caine was blushing. I probably was too.
"So, Angel, I've been wanting to ask you. I've liked you for awhile now, and I don't know if you like me back or not, but do you want to be my girlfriend?" he asked me, chuckling nervously.
"Yes." I smiled, and I pecked him on the cheek, grinning.
