"Oh, gravity is working against me
And gravity wants to bring me down
Oh twice as much ain't twice as good
And can't sustain like one-half could
It's wanting more
That's gonna send me to my knees..."- John Mayer "Gravity"

At school the next day I found myself staring at my cell phone with a wide grin plastered on my face. The screen before me showed a picture of Icarus cuddling with Turtle, again.
Icarus:
Turtle and I say good morning :)
I smiled from ear to ear as I examined the photo. Turtle was passed out right on the pillow next to Icarus's head. Turtle had his back against Icarus' right cheek. As for Icarus, he looked as if he had just woken up. His eyes were droopy and hair unbrushed. Even still, I couldn't help but find him kinda, cute.
"What are you smiling about?" Maggy curiously asked as she leaned over my shoulder to get a glance at my cell phone screen.
I quickly turned off my phone and shoved it into my back pocket, leaving no way for her to find out what I was looking at seconds ago. "Nothing," I stated, hoping to drop the subject as quickly as it came up.
Don't get me wrong, Maggy is my best friend and I tell her almost everything. Almost being the key. See, Maggy can sometimes get overexcited about things. I knew this would be one of those cases. I would tell her about Icarus and she would make a big deal out of it. Maggy would probably say I found my soulmate and even go as far as planning our wedding - this I kid you not. Maggy had a mind that floated way too far at times.
I didn't want that, at least not now. I wanted to keep everything as simple as possible. If I spilled about the whole Icarus situation to her, she would constantly talk about him and me. This overtime would get me all giddy and excited about a potential relationship with him. Knowing my luck, I would embarrass myself by growing feelings to not have them reciprocated.
Sighing, I knew I was already overthinking everything.
One step at a time, Grace. One step at a time.
"What are you girls talking about?" William asked as he came up to us.
Maggy gave William a deep frown to show her discontent with me. "Gray is hiding something from me. She was smiling at her phone as if she had just won the lottery, but won't tell me the real reason for doing so."
William gave me a raised eyebrow as his curiosity immediately spiked, just like Maggy's. "Is this so? . . . Mind telling us why you were staring at your phone like a fool?"
I collected the books from my locker I would need for the first half of the day. My plan was to ignore William and Maggy. I knew if I verbally resisted telling them what was going on, they would get to me, and I would open my big mouth and tell them all about Icarus. So, I settled on ignoring them. Now, I know it is a childish technique, but it was needed to deal with their nagging curiosity.
"Come on, Gray!" Maggy pleaded, "Just answer us!"
I closed my locker and zipped up my backpack. "See you guys later!" I yelled over my shoulder as I raced away from them. I smiled at them over my shoulder just before I rounded the corner.

My mind was elsewhere, not focused on my surroundings. It was no wonder that I collided with someone just before reaching my class. Luckily, I had been able to catch my balance before I faceplanted.
