August

Sitting on the end of the couch on my phone I silently waited for this football nigga. He said he would be here by 8 am. I saw the alarm set on Danielle's phone and turned it off.

I was meeting with this meat head ass nigga, not her. Plus my girls needed there sleep. They were worn out.

Looking over to my left I admired the way Danni looked in her sleep. She was beautiful, she was always beautiful, but something about her laying there with Bri made her look like more of a Goddess than she already was.

I began to become mad at myself for the way I handled these last months. I missed out on an important part of Danni's life.

Her growth.

She was always amazing before but now she was everything. She was now so strong-willed, she was now speaking her mind and was so much more confident in the way she carried herself. She was a new Danielle.

Danielle's phone vibrated taking me out of my longing stare.

Odellie: I'm here. We need to talk when I come in.

We gon' talk aight.

I swung the door open before he could knock. There was no way he was going to wake her and stop me from beatin' his ass.

"Oh come the fuck on!" I shouted as Sky's dumb ass was standing at the door in front of Odell. "mmm, hey Auggie." I rolled my eyes as I rushed to move out of her way as she went to put her hands on me.

As she walked around me I looked at Odell. This was a big nigga but I still planned on whooping his ass.

"Um, August Anthony?" I heard D sternly call from the livingroom. I'm guessing Sky's duckhead ass made her thot ass known.

I reluctantly left the grown ass staring contest I was having at the door, leaving it open for him. He bumped his shoulder into mine pushing his way into the living room.

"Aye, watch the fuck out bruh." I didn't have time for this shit this morning.

Stepping into the living room I swear I could see Danni's face turning red. I didn't see bri so I'm guessing she took her to the room. "Why are tweedle Dee and tweedle dumb in my apartment?"

I laughed with her, but when I looked up her face was stern. Looks like I was laughing alone.

"Well, Oscar came to get his things, and I don't know why Cruella even stepped foot in here." That time I got a snicker out of her.

"Bruh, what's up? You ain't the only Louisiana nigga hur." His accent started sounding as rough as mine, but I wasn't phased. He didn't have the fuckin' heart. Waving my hand, dismissing him I turned to the stare down the the ladies were having.

I used the term lady lightly for that she-bitch over there. I can't believe I was any where near her. She was pure evil. She was what scary movies were made from. But as I turned toward Danni, I was taken back. Even though her jaw was clinched and her nose was flared, she was flawless. I don't see how anyone could not love that. She was already the best mother that Bri had and she'd just met her.

"Every man falls in love with me." I had hopped in on the wrong part of the conversation.

"I'm not. There's no way to be in love with a woman who won't respect herself." She rolled her eyes, but it ended with a smirk.

"That's no what you said in the bathroom of your old label when you were trying to get your contract back." She began to snicker. Of course that's not how it went down but I watched Danni's eyebrow raise still looking at Sky.

Either she was in for it, or I was. But whoever was getting this ass whooping, it ain't gon be pretty.

"So do you have fun trying to fuck anyone willing to share a moment of time with you?" Now D was the one with the smirk. She continued, "I'd like to think that I know Aug better than that and you my friend, have never and will never be his type, baby girl."

I watched Sky become red in the face. "Oooh! That's why your family never fucking wanted your dumb ass. Odell told me what Grandma told you." I watched Danni's face go from confident to hurt. I know it had to be because she told him in confidence. If it's what she told me then the worse thing is sky knowing.

"The truth is, the didn't have a drug problem, they just didn't. Want. You." I watched Danni as tears pricked the back of her eyes and her face became a deep scarlet.

"Get. Out," it was so quiet I don't think Sky heard as she kept running her mouth with non sense.

"They dropped you off at a fire station and kept it pushing. You think people love you? Ha. Please." Sky laughed.

"Get your hoe ass outta my house. My parents loved me more than yours loved you. Cause I grew up to be respected and you're still a worthless HOE, looking for love in other people's marriages." Sky scoffed. "Be careful who's husband you fool around with. You never know who knows what. Bitch."

At that moment Danni held her tears as she shooed Sky out of her apartment. She slammed the door and proceeded to throw Oscars things off the balcony. I hope he didn't need any of that.

After I got done mentally killing sky in my head, I looked over and saw Danni with her head in her hands. "I know that everyone tells me that my parents missed out on what I've become but I can't help but think Sky has a point—. "

"Nah, don't even finish that cause she was bout to say some stupid shit. Fuck Sky she's going to hell anyways." I chuckled to myself.

I watched Danni get up and walk back in to the room. I don't what I was going to do but with all the information that was thrown into the conversation I knew what I had to do.
