"Yeah." I nod my head.
"Ok." Stein pulled the needle and thread through my face, creating clean stitches.
I didn't flinch or scream. It didn't hurt, really. It didn't hurt as bad as it did when my dad actually gave me the cuts. I just sat there until he finished.
Once Stein finished, he cut the extra thread off and left the room. I put my hand up to the stitches under me right eye. It felt strange.
Dr. Stein came back into the room.
"Well you pulled through that quite well," he looked at me. "Now, what caused this?"
"It was my dad again...." I sighed.
"Haley," he looked me in the eyes, "you can't keep letting him do this."
"I have no choice, Stein."
"What do you mean?"
"There's no way to stop him. You can't hurt him, he'll just heal quickly. You can't kill him, he'll just regenerate."
"But he won't be able to come back, no one can regenerate souls."
"Well know you know a person who can." His eyes went wide.
"Impossible."
"Not for my dad."
"Well thanks Dr. Stein," Maka interrupted. "We should get going now."
"Alright." He replied. Maka helped me up, though I didn't need it anymore.
We walked back to her apartment which, surprising, wasn't to terribly far away.
Once we arrived at her apartment, she set me down on the couch and went to tell Soul what had happened.
I sat there and looked around the place. It was a little small, yet cozy. It was kind of cute. I hear Maka and Soul talking somewhere.
"She doesn't have a place to stay, so she's going to stay here for a bit." Maka explained.
"She lied? That's so uncool," Soul said, "but ok. She can stay here for a little."
It was the middle of the night now. Maka came back in with a pillow and a blanket.
"Here," she handed them to me. "You ok with sleeping on the couch?"
"Yeah, thanks." She left and I laid down. After a bit I drifted to sleep.
~dream~
I was sitting under a tree in the park. I was just sitting there humming to myself. It seemed like nothing could go wrong. It was a beautiful day. No clouds, a light breeze. It was beautiful. Then suddenly it got dark. I looked around, not realizing what was going on. I stood up, and looked around. Someone walked up behind me. I began to turn around when the person sliced my back with a blade. It was my dad. I screamed and fell to the ground. He kept cutting me, making deep cuts on my legs, arms, face, anything. He eventually left, leaving me to bleed to death.
I woke up screaming. I heard someone come rushing in. It was Maka.
"You ok!?" She asked, very concerned.
