Chapter 13

"I-I'm Haley." I say in the same shy tone.

Maka walked up to us and smiled. She seemed to know the pinked haired boy. Did she?

"I see you've met Crona."

"O-oh h-hey Maka." He said to her.

"Y-yeah..." I say.

"Well we should get to class." Maka says and began to walk to class. Crona and I followed behind her.

"S-so are you n-new?" He asked me

"A-a little, yeah."

"O-ok." I looked down, not knowing what to say.

We got to class. Crona sat with Soul, Maka and me. Class started after we sat down.

"Ok class, today we will be dissecting a fish."

Everyone groaned, not wanting to see the dissection. We had to sit through one every day. It would be nice not to see a dissection for one day. If he would even do that.

Soon class was over. I sighed in relief. I hated seeing the dissections. I looked down at my pocket, which was glowing again. I sighed.

"Well I should get going." I stood up

"Wh-where are y-you g-going?" Crona asked, puzzled that I had to leave so soon.

"I-uh-I just have to go..." I walked out of the room. Just before I left, Crona saw that my pocket was glowing. Soon enough Crona left and chased after me.

I broke into a run once I got out of the classroom. I was pretty far away from the school when I heard Crona.

"H-Haley! W-wait!" I continued to run. I ran to the park, hiding in the trees.

I sat down, going into a coughing fit. After a bit I stopped coughing. I heard the leaves rustle. I knew it wasn't my dad because the Soul Binder would have told me.

"H-Haley?" It was Crona.

"Y-yes?"

"Wh-why did you r-run out of the c-class like th-that?"

"W-well I-uh..."

"Y-yes?"

I explained everything to him. He had a surprised look on his face. It wasn't a horrified look, but a surprised-someone-understands look.

"What is it, Crona?" I say noticing his surprised face.

"W-well it's just it-its's kinda like th-that for me t-too.."

"R-really?"

"Y-yeah, my mom d-doesn't b-beat me...sh-she would just l-lock me in a r-room for a l-long time, l-letting my w-weapon bully me."

"O-oh..."

"Y-yeah," he looked down, then at me. "S-so...wh-where is h-he n-now?"
