Chapter 24

"I-I still don't know h-how to p-play." I say.

"We'll teach you!" Black*Star shouted.

They taught me. It was harder than I thought. We played several rounds. Then, it started to get dark. Everyone started to head home and I had been coughing slightly.

"You ok, Haley?" Maka asked as we walked back home.

"Yeah," I finished coughing. "I'm fine."

"I still can't believe you beat me." Soul mumbled. I rolled my eyes and continued to walk.

We got to the apartment and I immediately laid down on the couch. I was absolutely tired.

"Do you want some dinner?" Maka asked.

"No, I'm not hungry. I'm just going to go to sleep."

"Ok."

I fell asleep on the couch while Soul an Maka ate. Eventually Maka and Soul went to their rooms and went to sleep.

I dreamt of The Soul Binder, the book. Who wrote it? The author's name wasn't visible on the book.

I woke up at the normal time, did the normal stuff, and walked to school.

We walked into class and took our seats. I sighed and sat through another lesson.

We were dismissed for lunch. I went outside to the steps and ate there. I read The Soul Binder as I ate. I heard someone walk up to me.

"Wh-what are you r-reading, Haley?" Crona asked as he sat next to me.

"It's a book on the Soul Binder...I'm not so sure about it. Everything that I've read so far is true."

"O-oh."

"Yeah..." I set down the book. "So Crona..."

"Y-yes...?"

"I-I was m-maybe wondering if y-you would like to go on a w-walk with me...?" I blushed slightly.

"Wh-what do y-you mean...?"

"J-just to hang out..."

"O-ok..."

"R-really..?"

"Y-yeah..."

"H-how about after school?" I suggested.

"O-ok."

I smiled slightly. I never really smiled much. We went back to class once lunch ended.

School ended, and Crona and I met up at the steps. We start to walk around the city.

"Wh-where should we g-go...?" Crona asked.
