Chapter 8

"You know, just avoiding being hurt from my dad."

"Oh."

"Yeah, but I guess he isn't going to find me this time, he attacked me only a few hours ago. I was wondering why he was looking for me again so soon. He normally waits a bit before going to attack me again."

"Oh..." Soul repeated.

"I guess he won't find me this time." I stood up and stretched. I had been waiting here for hours. The Soul Binder glowed, telling me my dad gave up his search.

"What's in your pocket?" He tilted his head slightly. I pulled out the glowing stone and sighed.

"Who this guy?" the Soul Binder's voice said my head.

"His name is Soul, be nice to him!" I say to the stone.

"Wha-?" Soul said, shocked that I was talking to it.

"I don't like him!" the Soul Binder yelled. I winced in pain slightly from his yell.

"HEY! DON'T YELL LIKE THAT!!! IT HURTS!!!" I yelled back at the stone.

"Uhh." Soul said thoroughly confused.

"It's a stone calle the Soul Binder. It binds to a person's soul and talks to them. If he- at least I think it's a he- talks to loud it hurts me because he's talking in my head." Soul didn't say anything. "You probably think I'm crazy..." Soul continued not to say anything.

I wondered of I scared him by telling him that. It's pretty strange. I wouldn't blame him for being scared, I did sound crazy after all.

"You just scared him! You didn't have to tell him!" the Soul Binder's voice echoed in my head. It was right. I didn't have to tell Soul. Why did I? I'm so stupid.

I just stood there, waiting for Soul to react in some way. He just continued to stand there, as if he was trying to comprehend everything. I looked down. Then Soul hugged me.

"Eh?!" I said in shock.

"I am so sorry for you," he said sympathetically and released me. "Now, don't tell anyone I just did that. That would be so uncool." I laughed slightly.

"Ok, Ok. I won't tell a soul."

"Good. Now, do you have a place to stay?"

"Yeah..." I lied.

"Ok. Well, I should go. Maka will kill me."

"Oh, well, bye!" I waved and walked away. I walked to a house, I jumped on a trash can, then to the roof of the house.

I began to walk along the rooftops. I hum to myself, not sure what I was humming though. I just hummed a melody. I was walking along the roofs when I felt someone grab me from behind.

"Think you can get away that easily?" A man said. That man was my father.
