Chapter 26

"Yes...why?"

"It's one in the morning."

"And?"

"Get some sleep." He said and left. I sighed and put my book up. I pulled the blanket over me and went to sleep.

I woke up an hour later. I couldn't sleep. I sat up and looked around and got up. I went outside and took a walk. It was pretty dangerous walking alone at night with my dad around. I decided to read at the steps of the DWMA. My dad wouldn't come close to the DWMA.

I walked along the sidewalk to the DWMA. I looked around, admiring the quiet night. I looked up at the laughing moon, blood dripping from its mouth. I chuckled at it and kept walking.

I gripped the book at my side. I had my grip on it pretty tight, probably because I was nervous. I looked around cautiously and continued walking.

I forgot to leave a note for Maka and Soul if they woke up and didn't see me. Crap. I shrugged it off. They would eventually find out I was at the DWMA right? I know Maka would freak out....

I walked through the park to get to the DWMA. The tree swayed with the light breeze. The fountain was going. I smiled and listened to the fountain as I walked past. A few birds flew to their nests. Even at night this place was beautiful.

The light breeze brought the smell of flowers. It was a nice sent. I walked out of the park, getting closer to the DWMA.

I walked through the little shopping area. I passed by a small bakery. I smiled as I passed it. It was a pretty nice bakery and the owner was nice.

I finally made it the the DWMA. I sat on the steps and continued to read.

'Im the Soul Binder.' The stone answered the boy's thoughts.

"What?" The boy replied.

'I have bound to your soul.'

"Why?"

'Well I need a person to bind souls with or else I'll lose my powers.'

The boy didn't seem to understand what the Soul Binder meant.

I heard someone walk up behind me. I quickly close the book an turn around. I sighed in relief to find out it was just Crona.

"H-Haley? Wh-what are you d-doing here...?"
