"I think I'm in love!" She announced Monday morning. Noah cocked an eyebrow.
"Are you now?"
"Oh god, Noah, he's perfect. He has these wonderful eyes, and he's a handsome gentleman who likes lucky charms," she gushed, excluding the details of his stubbly chin and beautiful tan skin; they reminded her of Noah.
"Do you even know his name?"
She crossed her arms defensively. "Of course I do. It's Jason. He's my new neighbor. And we're soulmates."
He rolled his eyes. He hated the term 'soulmates', and believed it to be bullshit.
"Don't you roll your eyes at me!"
"You know better, Gemma," he said wearily, "true love doesn't exist."
She leaned in closer, her eyes sparkling in delight. "You wouldn't know until you've experienced it."
And as he shook his head with a smile, watching her pull back and take another sip of her coffee, he thought to himself, maybe I have.
