Chapter Sixty-Eight: Avoiding Him

    Mia wouldn't talk to him at work.

    It made sense. He used her, thought she did have a part in it, so he accepted her choice of avoiding him.

    But as the day rolled into night, they were of the last people still working. He didn't want to go home, he had no reason to.

    Finally Bret left, and all that remained was Noah and Mia.

    And Mia wasn't talking to him. He frowned, remembering the hours they'd spend working late together, just talking and chatting and laughing . . . He missed it.

    And apparently she missed him.

    Because she whipped his chair around so that he would face her, and breathed a soft, "I don't care."

    Next thing he knew, she had straddled his lap and closed the gap between their lips.
