When Gemma arrived home, she peeked out through her bedroom curtains to catch a glimpse of the coffee shop. It was right across the street, light still protruding from its windowed walls.
She knew the shop was open extremely early, but she was never sure how late.
She had no view of their back table, it was considered hidden for a reason.
But she did have a view of a young man with dark eyes entering through its doors.
He hasn't given up on me, she thought, he may think me a terrible person, but he hasn't given up.
Not yet, at least.
Not yet, but possibly soon, meaning she only had so much time to get down there to see him.
