Chapter 21

Winry's POV

I knelt beside Artemis. "She's still breathing, but barely," I replied.

"Josh if you don't get here in the next three seconds, it'll be too late," I said as I connected to him.

"Be there in two, keep her awake," he replied. That's what he says, does he think it's that's easy?

"Winry, can you do anything?" Nova asked.

"Nova, that is not my ability. Josh recommended that I keep her awake," I replied.

"Never mind that I'm here," Ashley said as she knelt beside Artemis. She held out her hands and began to heal Artemis. "That was bad, but she'll be fine now."

"Why isn't she awake?" Michael asked.

"Because she's still weak, it took a lot out of her body. If you guys want to do anything with Artemis it will have to wait until tomorrow," she replied.

"You can't tell us what to do," he said. She stared at him. Oddly enough she was actually quite frightening for someone who couldn't hurt anyone.

"Michael, this is for Artemis's health so listen to Ashley," I said.

"I don't have to listen to you either," he argued.

"But you do have to listen to me, I'm still in charge until Artemis can take back over. Leigha can still do her job," Nova said.

"I can do mine as well," Anna said.

"I have to wait, but I should be able to do it tomorrow," I said. Neil picked Artemis and set her on her bed.

"Winry, I need Neil to leave. I found out something and he shouldn't be here to hear it," Anna said. I had a permanent connection with her meaning she can always talk to me and I can always talk to her as long as we're in range.

"Ok, I'll see what I can do but I'll need back up," I replied.

"Thanks," she said.

"Neil, we have the situation under control now. So you can go," I said. I connected everyone, except Neil, whether they wanted to or not. "Anna needs to discuss something and Neil shouldn't be in the room."

"But..." he began.

"Neil, Dr. Wolf could need your help with something," Josh said.

"Knowing Leigha, at least one of them is injured by now," Nova added.

"Yeah, I had to stop offering to heal them," Ashley said.

"Ok, I'll check in on her later," he replied and once the door shut everyone looked at Anna.

"Ok so I've done something," Anna said.

"What?" Nova asked.

"I've checked on someone's past," she replied.

"Yeah Artemis asked you to look for the traitor, but we found him. You did that," Nova said.

"I know but I saw something in his past, but I didn't tell Artemis and I can't keep it inside anymore," she replied.

"What?" Josh asked.

"Neil is Nick," she replied.

"What?" I asked. "I didn't see anything when I searched his mind."

"That's the thing, he doesn't remember anything, but I saw his entire past. I saw Artemis and her parents. He is Nick, and apparently he only remembers things after the day he 'died'," she replied.
