"Yep, and thanks for the warm welcome guys," I said as I put my hands on my hips, deactivating my ability.

"Well don't blame us!" someone else yelled. "You should have given us a fair warning."

"You're right, I should blame my Protectors," I replied and looked in their direction.

"Nice catch, Seer," I heard the Chief say, she's the leader of the Protectors and the SAs. People started to disperse.

"Thanks," I replied, "Everyone these are my friends, Ashley, Mason, Bailey, and Brandon. There are all SA, so make them feel at home." Whoever was left nodded and then went on their way.

"Sorry if we freaked you guys out," the Chief said, "We're all a little on edge right now, most of the people here have been attacked recently and fled to here for protection."

"Has it gotten that bad Chief?" I asked.

"Unfortunately, Seer, yes it has," she replied. "Seer, I have a question to ask you."

"No," I replied.

"You don't know what I was going to say," she argued.

"Like I don't know what you are going to ask and my answer is no. It's the same answer I gave to you three months ago and it's going to be the answer I'm going to give until I die. I will not be training SAs anymore. You do have people to do that."

"But none are as good as you, please Seer," she begged, by now everyone, but my friends had left.

"I said no, I won't do it anymore. I came here for my friends, I have some things I want to look at so I won't have time to train anyone; plus if even if I did it I would be exhausted before I even got started. So you have my answer, if you guys want to find me, I'll be in my room or the library," I said as I walked away.

"What's her deal?" Mason asked.

"Don't you remember what Hannah and Carl told us?" Ashley asked, "She cracked and swore she wouldn't train anyone again." Sometimes I really hated my oversensitive hearing.

"Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that," he replied.

"She'll give in eventually," the Chief said. I always hated her over confidence especially when it under played my stubbornness.

"I don't think she will," Brandon replied.

It's been two days since then and each day I went out of my room less and less. It's not because of the Chief, but because of my research. Well part of it is because of the Chief, but... my research. I just don't know how to explain it, but let me tell you this it is the meaning of life and death.

I looked towards my door when I saw Bailey's and Ashley's auras coming towards my room.

"You need to get out of here," Bailey came in and said as I took out my headphones.

"Not now I'm busy," I replied.

"You've barely left your room since we got here," Ashley replied.

"Guys, I can't leave now," I said.

"Artemis, you're probably exhausted you need to take a break," Bailey said.

"I haven't been using my ability and I have slept," I argued.

"You haven't been using your ability?" Bailey asked.

"No, my computer tells me what's on the page. It would be a little difficult for regular people, but I got it figured out," I replied.
