I walked down the stairs until I got to the second floor. Here? But this is where everyone is staying. I kept walking down the hall until I got to the last two doors, on my right was Mason's room (I was going to kill him later)and on my left was Brandon's and Michael's room. I went to the left and sat down on the floor in front of their door. I heard them talking. Did Mason want me to hear something?

"So you're close to Artemis?" Brandon asked.

"Duh," was Michael's reply. I rolled my eyes.

"So what do you know about her?" Brandon asked. Why was I listening to this late night girl talk?

"Everything."

"Everything?"

"Yep," Michael replied. Like he knows everything not even Hannah and Carl know everything. But Michael did know more than 99.99% of people in my life.

"So can you tell me anything?"

"Like what?"

"I don't know, just anything."

"Well she really doesn't like to talk about her life, if you want to know something you'll have to wait until she finally breaks down and tells you or you ask someone else. But you really never know what she thinks of someone, or what she thinks about a situation, or what she thinks period. She's difficult to get used to but she is pretty amazing."

"Why doesn't she let anyone know what she thinks?"

"Well I think it's to protect them, she doesn't like anyone being sad. So she makes sure they're happy by not saying what she thinks. Because I bet her thoughts are anything but happy, with what she's been through you can't expect anything else."

"You mean her parents."

"Not just her patents she's seen so many people leave us and she's hurt so many people too."

"I take it you mean other people other than Watchers."

"Yep, I can't count how many Abilitors she's sent to the infirmary because they got her pissed off."

"Why are you guys suddenly using Abilitors instead of SAs?"

"SA means Special Ability, I guess going back to our original name means that we're more than just our abilities that we are people. And it means the end of the Chief's control."

"What do you think Artemis is going to do after she exposes the Chief?"

"I don't know and I don't even think she knows, but I know she will have a plan."

It was quiet for a while, but I still couldn't leave. I was really gonna kill Mason, I wanted to sleep.

"If you weren't an Abilitor what would you be?" Brandon asked.

"I guess I would be a cop. What about you?" Michael asked her.

"Maybe a pro football player. What do you think Artemis would be?"

"A doctor."

"Why a doctor?"

"Well she likes to help people, so a doctor would make sense. Why are you questioning that? What do you think she would want to be?"

"An artist, it's easy to see that she like to paint. And although she likes to help people I don't think she likes to see them in pain."

That's it I'm not listening to this anymore, this is their private conversation albeit about me. I closed my eyes for a second and then I could feel Mason's will disappear. I stood up and walked back up to my room. I laid back down and quickly fell back to sleep. Who knew expelling someone else's mind from your own would take so much energy? The next time I woke up it was on my terms (just to make that clear). It was seven in the morning. When I got downstairs I saw that everyone was up and making breakfast.
