Unexpected love

Hospital Part 34

Zach's P.O.V:
I run to Julie and jack's room. A nurse stops me, she puts her hand on my chest and lightly pushes me.

"I'm sorry sir. We have to take care of the patient, but you can wait outside. We have to do surgery right away so we won't loose the patient and we will have to do it in the room. There is not time to move the patient and the second patient that is in there will just have to wait."

"B-but Julie! Please tell me, is it the guy or the girl?!" I ask frantically.

"Sir I'm not allowed to tell you anymore information unless you are a family member."

"I'm the girls boyfriend! Please!" I beg. She gives me a sad smile.

"I'm not even sure if it's the boy or the girl. I'm not even allowed to go in." She admits. I step away and sit in a chair. I lower my head into my hands and groan. I go to the window of the room only to see it closed shut. I look around, searching for a gap to look through. I fail miserably. I sit back down and my leg bounces up and down nervously. I go to the vending machine and buy a water. I sit back down and open it. I start to take a sip but I just end up squishing the bottle and spilling it everywhere. I angrily throw it into the trash can next to me and sit back down.

"FUCK!" I shout and a woman glares at me. Her daughter walks up to me.

"You said a bad word mister." She says, pointing her little finger at me. She has blond hair, big blue eyes and and the most innocent face I've ever seen. She clings to a teddy bear that has a ripped ear. She stares at me and I soften up.

"Oh, did I? I'm sorry." She smiles at me.

"Than you for being sorry." She says. I chuckle. "Why did you say it?"

"Molly, leave the nice man alone. He's very busy right now sweetie." I glance at her mother who has walked over. "Sorry for the bother." She says to me.

"But mommy, I just wanna know." The little girl says pouting.

"It's alright." I tell her mom. "So your name's Molly?" I ask the little girl. She nods. "That's a pretty name. What's your teddy's name?"

"Mr.Snuggles." she says. I laugh.

"Nice to meet you Molly and Mr.Snuggles." I say. She grins.

"So why did you say that bad word mister?"

"My name is Zach." I tell her. She nods and tilts her head. A pang shoots through my heart. She tilted her head...just like Julie. "Do you love your teddy?" I ask. She nods and hugs her teddy. "Well I love Julie."

"Who's Julie?"

"She's an amazing woman who is right threw those doors." I explain while pointing to Julie's door.

"If you love her why aren't you with her?" She asks curiously.

I sigh, "Well because she might be hurt. I can't see her right now, that's why I said a bad word. I'm angry that I can't see the woman I love."

"I love my daddy." She says, tears sliding down her cheek. "B-but I can't see him either. He's in there." She point to the door down the hall.

I smile at her and take her small hand in mine. "You know, if you wish hard enough, you can help him." I whisper. She sniffles and wipes away a tear.

"How?" She asks tilting her head again. I ignore the pain in my heart.

"Well, if you look out the window and wish on a star hard enough, your wish might come true."

"What should I wish for?" She asks.

"You have to wish for your daddy. You have to wish that he will be alright. Maybe." I explain, smiling. Her face brightens up but then she frowns.

"What if it doesn't come true? What if my daddy....dies?" She asks, a tear rolls down her face again. I wipe it away with my thumb.

"Well, if it doesn't come true....then you have to tell your dad that you love him, and that you will see him again." I say quietly. I can't lie to her.

"But if he dies then I won't see him again."

"Yes you will, and he will be watching over you."

"How do you know I will see him again?"

"Because I believe in the power of love." I say, smiling at her.

"Thank you mister." She whispers. I smile at her and start to head back to my chair. "Mister?" She says. I turn around.

"Yes?"

"Can I make two wishes?" She asks.

"Why not." I shrug. "What's your second wish?"

"That your Julie will get better so you can say you love her." She smiles and hugs my waist. I smile and hug her back, patting her head after we pull apart.

"Thank you. I'll wish for your daddy, I believe he will be alright."

"Molly!" A man shouts behind us. Her mother hugs the man and then Molly looks up.

"DADDY!!!!" She screams and runs to him. He picks her up and spins her around careful not to step on the cast around his leg. "DADDY MY WISH CAME TRUE!" She screams and kisses his cheek.

"Your wish?" The man asks.

"Zach told me that if I wished on a star, then maybe you would get better!" She says proudly. "And it worked and your here and, and, and I LOVE YOU!" She says and hugs him tightly. "I was so scared daddy and mister Zach helped me not be scared and he made me believe and guess what?!" The man raises his eyebrow. "Someone he loves is in that room and I'm going to wish for her to get better so he can say I love you to her too!l she shouts pointing at the door. The man laughs and sets her down. She runs to the window and points to the sky. "I'm going to wish now!" She says happily. I smile. The man walks up to me.

"Thank you for giving her hope. I hope your friend gets better." He pats my shoulder and then wraps his arm around his wife's shoulder, hugging her. Molly finishes and runs up to me to give me a hug. "Now Julie will get better and you can marry her and say I love you and have a little girl or boy and be happy and eat food, I like food by the way." She grins and I laugh.

"Thanks Molly." I say and she skips into a recovery room with her family. I sigh and sit down. I stare at Julie's door and then a doctor comes out, taking off a glove. "I'm sorry for you loss." He says quietly.  "We did everything we could." He says and pats my back before walking away, shaking his head. My heart breaks. I can't breath. I put my hand on my chest and gasp for air. Tears sting at my eyes and I run into the room.
