Love Part 43

Jay's P.O.V:

My phone rings and I sip my coffee as I answer it.

"To what do I owe the pleasure?" I ask.

"Go over to my house. Julie needs a friend. Please don't hurt her. Don't bother her. Just be her FREIND. Steph is catching the next plane here she, went with Kyle to Paris again. Please go now." Zach croaks, clearly he has been crying  and hangs up. I throw my coffee away and rush to my car. When I get to Zach's house the door is wide open. I run inside and go upstairs. Julie is sobbing on the floor. I stride to her side and scoop her up. She stops crying and looks up at me.

"Za-" she starts to say. She sees me and starts to cry again.

"What happened?" I ask softly. She shakes her head and I nod. After a while, she finally settles down and she sits on her bed. I sit next to her.

"Want to talk?"

"Zach left." She whispers.

"What?"

"He went to Chicago for business stuff and he told me I should move on." I gasp. I clench my fists and stand up.

"That little ASS!" I shout. Julie shakes and I hug her again.

"Shhh I'm here." I soothe. She nods and rests her head on my shoulder. I rub her back gently and she sniffles. Lucky whimpers and places his paws on her lap, laying his head on them. Julie scoops him up and hugs him.

"What did I do wrong?" She says quietly.

"Nothing, you are absolutely perfect. Zach shouldn't have left like that." I say softly. She nods, clearly not convinced and looks at me.

"Can I be alone please?" She asks me. I nod.

"I'll be downstairs." I say and she gives me a fake smile. I rub her cheek.

"Don't do that." I say and she looks down. I lift up her chin.

"Zach made a mistake." I say and a tear rolls down her face. I wipe it away and kiss her cheek before walking down the stairs. I take it my phone and call Zach.

"Hello?" He answers.

"You're a fucking idiot." I growl.

"I know."

"Then why did you do it?"

"My dad needs me. I can't abandon him."

"So you choose your dad over the woman you claim to love?" I scoff. "She does deserve better than you." I say harshly.

"I know." He says quietly. "You must be happy."

"I'm completely broken because Julie isn't happy!" I snap at him.

"But now you can win her heart." He states.

"Your a terrible person." I shout and hang up. I admit I felt a speck of happiness when I found out Zach left, but that immediately washed away when I saw her. I'm hopelessly in love with her, but she needs a friend. I hear a crash upstairs and run.

Julie's P.O.V:

I throw a vase full of roses on the ground and it crashes, sending pieces of glass flying my way.

"Julie what the hell?!" I hear Jay shout. I stare at the shattered vase.

"He left me." I whisper. He runs to me and pulls me into a hug. "He left me!" I sob into his shoulder. He just nods and runs my back gently. I let sleep take over me once again.

One week later
