Chapter 10: Paper Doll

"Blaze, can you tell me the answer?"

I was snapped out of my near sleep in science. 

''Sorry what was the question?'' I heard Ashton chuckle from the other side of the room. I quickly turned round to look him before turning back around. 

''I said, what is the symbol for oxygen?'' This should be simple. But I am not smart at all, and I forget these things very easily. 

''uh.. O2?'' Luckily I guessed right. But that doesn't mean I was confident in my answer. The class went on, and on. Finally the bell rang as Ashton and I waked out of the classroom. We waited for Luke and Julia who were in the same corridor. The expressions on their faces told us exactly how their class went.

''Is Ms Stevens really that bad?'' I questioned, laughing.

''Ha ha very funny, but why don't you try sitting in that classroom with that voice droning on and on for ninety minutes with no break. If I fell asleep I'm pretty sure she wouldn't notice.'' Julia explained making Ashton and I laugh.

''Jules.. I did fall asleep after twenty minutes. We don't even take notes down so,'' I could tell Luke was completely serious which was strange because he's the type of person that gets paranoid about getting notes down.

I was walking out of school with Ashton to walk home because Luke and Calum had something to do, which I wasn't really listening to and Julia got herself in detention for talking loudly in class. That made me laugh because that is typical Julia. So as we were walking out of the school gates, I seen Michael and another girl walking out hand in hand, as Michael kissed her cheek. I felt my heart sink a little, only because I've become a little closer to Michael in the part month it's been since Halloween. 

Ashton and I however have become best friends, he's actually been there for me when Julia couldn't. I love Luke and Calum, but they just can't handle seeing me cry, because they end up crying with me. However it is pretty funny because then we both end up crying together and laugh about why the other is crying. 

I accidentally bumped in to Michael, and when I say accidentally I do mean completely accidental. I looked at him and he looked right in to my eyes. I gulped.

''Oh.. Hi Blaze..Ashton..'' 

''Yeah..hi..um, who's this?'' I knew exactly who she was. It was Laurie, who Calum was paired with for the english project and I knew she was no slut. So it made me wonder why she would go for Michael, only because he was the type to go for girls who were only in it for sex. I guess people change. 

''Oh sorry, this is Laurie.'' Laurie was beautiful, she had changed her hair colour to sea weed green which looked incredible. Nothing like my boring, blonde hair. My eyes didn't make it any better, they were a dark brown, no a thing interesting about them. Laurie had this bubbly character to her, like she wanted to conquer everything in life. I honestly loved the girl without even knowing her that well. 

''Hi Blaze!'' She smiled widely as me which I really couldn't help but return. 

''So..are you two like.. an item now?'' Ashton asked the question that I couldn't spit out and if I'm honest I really didn't want to hear the answer. Over the past month, Michael and I have grew closer. We've learnt a lot about the other that we never knew before. I learnt how Michael is scared of the dark, ever since he was a kid he has had this fear that there are things out there that we don't know about. I guess I know what he means, that's where our nightmares start off. In the dark. He learnt how I really want to dye my hair blue, it's something I've always wanted to do. Also how my dream is travel the world some day. Maybe not all at once but there's so many places I dream of having the experience of seeing.
