Christmas rolled by, and it was a very different year for me. I didn't have my father with me but that didn't stop my mum and I from making this year the best Christmas ever. Ashton, Luke, Calum and Julia all came round later to give our gifts. Calum got me a Green Day shirt, Luke got me a stuffed penguin with a grey and black flannel I had been wanting for ages. Julia got me a big collage in a picture frame with pictures we've took from when we first became friends to yesterday. Then Ashton got me tickets to Tonight Alive. I had mentioned to him how I had been wanting to see them live for so long, I knew Julia loved them as well, so we were both going.

The day passed quickly and before I knew it I was saying goodbye to my mother, before climbing in to bed to fall fast asleep.

After Christmas, the New Year came round the corner. It was amazing in the beginning. The first week, since we were still off school, we spent those days hanging out in my basement. It was like this wasn't even a different and new year. Then school started again.

So here I was, in the car with Julia on our way to hell. Once we arrived, Michael was there standing with Laurie. Some how she is still with him. We walked inside as the bell rang. Classes went on as usual and no problems. Yet.

I was called out to the office, a bunch of 'oohs' were heard. I rolled my eyes, and walked out of class taking my bag. I made my way down to the office, telling the receptionist I was called out of class telling her my name. But once I did say who I was, she looked up at me with the saddest eyes. She stood up and came over to me. My heart began to race, what could have happened for me to be pulled out of class and have this receptionist looking extremely sad.

''Blaze, I'm so sorry to tell you but.. your mum is in the hospital..'' My heart shattered right on the spot. My eyes were filled with tears, the world went blurry. I fell to the ground, this can't be real.

''What..happened..'' I , somehow, got out the words.

''Oh honey! I'll drive you to the hospital.'' To get out of the school, I knew I had to pass the class Ashton and Calum were in. On the way, I collapsed. I couldn't find the strength to get up, I landed on the ground with a loud bang. I'm almost certain I hit my head, because the next thing I knew I could only see black.

I woke up in a hospital bed with my friends surrounding me. My head hurt once I opened my eyes. What even happened to me, why am I in the hospital?

''What..why am I here?'' I spoke weakly.

''You got news that you're mum was here, you didn't know how to handle it so on your way out you were in the corridor and the next thing you collapsed. They took you straight here. We got here as soon as we could.'' I then remembered what happened. My mother is in the hospital and I still need I find out what is exactly wrong with her.

"Does anyone know what's wrong with my mum yet?"

"They say she took a drastic stroke out of the blue." Julia explained, my whole world fell apart.

"Will she be okay?!" My heart rate went up.

They all looked down in their laps. I could tell this was the end. My mum couldn't recover, could she? They all knew that, but none of them could blurt out the words to tell me. I knew though, nobody had to tell me. Soon enough a doctor came in to tell me the situation.
