Chapter 26: life of the party

Friday came around quicker than i could have imagined. However this time around, I didn't have a girl friend to help me get ready. Instead i resorted to the only person I could think of. My dads new girlfriend. For around a month now he's been seeing this woman called Monica. Personally I love her but she'll never beat my mum. It took a while for it to sink in that my dad was dating again. Monica was beautiful, dark black hair and sparkling sapphire eyes. Her laugh was adorable and she had a great sense of humour. She was someone I instantly knew o wanted in my life, whether she is my dads girlfriend or not. I'm happy my dad chose Monica.

Hey Monica, I need a favour. Do you mind coming over to help me with something? If you already have plans or are already out that's totally cool! It's only if your available. Thanks either way, Blaze x

I sent the text and got into the shower, washing my hair with my favourite vanilla shampoo and conditioner. Once I was done I wrapped a green fluffy towel round my body as I walked to my bedroom to see my phone light up with a text from Monica.

Yes no problem! I was coming over to see your dad today anyway! See you soon smiler! X

I smiled at her text, she gave me the nickname 'smiler' because he first time I met her I couldn't help but keep smiling at how happy she made my dad. And by how much she could make me laugh and how much I actually had in common with her. She even had the same music taste as me which is the most important part. She's like my best friend yet she's my dads girlfriend. But that makes it so much better.

Soon enough I opened the door to a grinning Monica.

"Hello hello hello! How's my little smiler doing today?"

"I'm quite nervous.. I have a date with Michael.."

"Oh my gosh we have to get you all dolled up right now! Did he say fancy or casual?"

"Casual."

"Oh how exciting!" And that's when it all begun. Monica rummaged through my closet and threw me a pair of shorts with were half orange half blue, a white pain tee which was far too big for me and my yellow converse. I had to admit I loved the outfit and I don't think I would've ever thought of it myself.

"Oh my gosh Monica I love it! Thank you so much!!" I hugged her quickly as she started on a little makeup. It was simple, a little concealer to cover up any imperfections and thin eyeliner with mascara. Soon after she was finished with my makeup Michael arrived shortly afterwards.

Monica squealed just like Julia would've done if she hadn't have went to the pink side. I went downstairs as Monica opened the door to a grinning Michael.

Once he stepped inside and took one look at me, his eyes widened.

"Wow blaze you look.. Awesome." I laughed at him, and soon said the same thing about him.

"Have fun kids! But not too much fun if you catch my drift!" My face turned bright red once I heard the words slip on her tongue. We climbed into his truck and began driving to I have no idea where.

"Mike, where are we going?" I looked out the window, not looking at him as I waited for an answer.

"You'll find out soon enough." I groaned, putting the window down to let the wind blow in my face. I grinned as we kept driving further and further away.

"Mikee, how long have we been driving for?"

"Only around an hour love," love? That was new. He never called me things like 'love' or anything.

"How much longer?"

"Only another ten minutes, I promise okay?" This time I looked at him and it may sound cliche but I did get lost in his emerald green eyes. He chuckled at me as he turned his head to focus on the road.

"And we're here!!"

Hey guys! So as soon as I updated the last chapter I began writing this one, I know these chapters are shorter but I feel if they are shorter I may update more. My school is getting off next week for Valentine's Day (half term in uk) so hopefully I'll get some more chapters up.

I plan to kind of wrap things up with this book soon maybe? I'm not too sure yet. Anywayy
