I'm at home holding my son in my arms as the sun's about to rise and I'm here thinking life couldn't get any better than this moment right here. Its amazing how someone you just met could mean so much to you. I love him so much already. After rocking Mason back to sleep I made my way into he kitchen where I made breakfast for fern, she's been under the weather this week and I'm doing what I can to make her feel better. When I was done with breakfast I carried it up to her but she wasn't in bed so I called it for her and she walked out of the bathroom

Kensi: do you need help with Mason?

No, Mason's sleeping. I made you some breakfast and if your head still hurts I went and got you some painkillers

Kensi: that's so sweet but I'm feeling fine today. Breakfast looks amazing so I'll definitely have some of that. You should get dressed for work. You've been home with me for the past month. I'm coming back to work next month and both of us don't need maternity leave

Are you sure you want to be home alone with the baby for the next month?

Kensi: I think I can handle our baby who only sleeps most of the time. You have Mason too attached to you and I know leaving him will be hard but I think its time

I really don't want to go but your right. I should get back to work, you can handle things here

I got dressed and left the house around nine, I arrived nine thirty and joined the guys in the bullpen

Callen: deeks, we didn't expect you back until kensi returns next month

She told me I should get back to work. I think leaving mason is harder on me than it will be on her when she comes back.

Sam: you'll survive. The first day is always tough, and kensi was right to send you into work because you'd never want to leave home

I already didn't want to leave my little man behind. He's the best kid everDeeks im needed here catching bad guys than changing diapers

Eric stood at the top of the stairs and whistled which meant we had a case so the three of us followed him into ops where we were briefed on a case. I went out with callen and sam, I called shotgun but somehow ended up in the back seat as we drove to the crime scene. When we got there the body of a navy officer laid out on their pacvment with multiple stab wounds

Callen: someone really wanted this guy dead, their must be over fifty stab wounds

Sam: we definitely know it was no accident and clearly not pre meditated. Maybe he got into an argument last night with someone from the bar across the street and in the hear of the moment ended up dead

That definitely could have happened, but their are no cameras in this area so if we want answers we'll have to go ask anyone who's been in the area last night.

Callen: let's start at the bar, someone there must have seen something and I'm sure a guy his size put up a fightDeeksanyone heard anything in their not talking. Nobody was any help to the LAPD this morning

Sam: good thing we're not LAPD, well most of us

We started our investigation which led to a drug ring so our case conflicted with the DEA. Talia couldn't help becausenshe was currently undercover so we were on our own. After a long days work went back to the bullpen to pack up then we headed home. When I got there kensi had just finished helping her mom and my mom with dinner and I joined them at the table

Kensi: how was your first day back at work?

It was interesting, we didn't catch the guys yet because the case is bigger that we originally thought so it will take time.

Kensi: it sounds pretty interesting so I guess when I return to work next week I'll hear all about it

What are you talking about? You don't have to be back for another month and I vthink you should take the time because you see how long some cases take

Kensi: your right, I'll stay with our little guy as long as I could. I miss the team and being out in the field working

It's not going anywhere and we could invite the team over whenever you like

Kensi: that sounds like a fun idea, maybe some time next weekendnwe can have them over

What did you make for dinner?

Kensi: you know I'm no good at cooking but your mom showed me what to do. You said your favorite meal is lasagna so that's what I made for dinner. You've been doing everything I like and you took really good care of me when I was sick so I thought I should return the favor

You really didn't have to, this is sweet of you and it smells great

Kensi: let's hope it tastes good too

We all ate dinne together then our mothers spent some time with mason while kensi and I went out for a walk together
