Kensi's POV

At the end of our work day thenguysnall came over to our house because we all wanted to catch up with Nate. When we got there Maya ran and gave me a hug while Mason was busy running around laughing with monty and his dad

Maya: mommy I had fun today, daddy came to see me dance and we went out for ice cream

That sounds like a whole lot of fun. Daddy's turned the house in to a playground. You guys have toys everywhere

Maya: I told daddy to clean up his mess

At least there was one adult present, next time I'll leave you in charge. Let's get these toys cleaned up and put away in their rightful place

Deeks: I have that under control and I ordered dinner, Chinese food from yummy yummy heart attack

Sam: I brought the beersnso let's get this party started

After deeks was done picking up the toys he and mason had everywhere he joined us for dinner, nate was introduced to all of the kids and they seemed to like him

Maya: mommy is it ice cream time?

Baby you haven't eaten anything off your plate. You took one bite and spit it in the trash, your a very picky eater so what do you want for dinner?

Maya: I not hungry Mommy, daddy got me pizza and the cotton candy that's sour, then we went to watch the princess movie and had lots of candy

Deeks are you out of your mind? You can't give her everything she wants all the time. Too much candy will have her throwing up

Deeks: give me a break, we've only been at this parenting thing for a year now and how can you say no when she has the cutest sad face? This is all new to me and I'll know better next time

Tomorrow is Sunday and your very lucky because you'll be the one up all night of she gets sick and at least you'll get to sllep in tomorrow. I know you want to give her everything she wants but she's four, we can't feed her candy and ice cream all day

Deeks: she's ok, I didn't let her have too much and Maya next time how about we not tell mommy

She tells me everything, this is my baby right here

Maya: Mommy I always tell you everything

That's one of the things I love most about you. Never change baby, your absolutely perfect

Deeks: do you want to show mommy what else you learned today? I discovered a whole new skill she has and she might be almost as good as I am. This kid has been holding out on us

He went and brought out his violin and handed it to maya who started playing the violin cover of wake me up by Avicii and it was just beautiful, she had all of us in awe

Nate: ok you have the most talented four year old on the planet and I love that song so much. Maya your so good at that, who taught you had to play?

Maya: my other Mommy, she said I had to learn how to use it. I don't want to talk about it anymore. She said I was no good at doing anything

That's not true Maya, you play beautifully and your great at everything you try. Maybe you can teach deeks a few things. We don't have to talk about Amelia if you don't want to

Maya: ok, mommy I tired so I got to go to sleep now

She gave me a kiss and went off to be then Nate said "have you ever thought about taking her to see a therapist for whatever issues she had with her birth parents? The issue won't go away by pretending it never happened. Every time she's having a good memory and flashes back to the bad ones it will come up"

Deeks: she doesn't like talking about it

She doesnt need a therapist ok, Amelia did love her at some point so all the memories aren't bad. She won't talk about it with everyone here bit when its just the two of us we discuss whatever's bothering her so we don't pretend it never happened. Amelia Gray was her mother, the Opera singer and she was a perfectionist Maya and I talked about her violin skills I just never heard her play. She played until her fingers bled and nothing was ever good enough. Things only got worse when Amelia started using drugs and alcohol. Maya had it rough from she turned two years old after her dad died in the car accident. Amelia did a lot of horrible things to maya and when she sold her to her drug dealer that's when we took maya away and Amelia overdosed on heroin that night. In the beginning she was a good mom but amelia died when her husband died. She used to be a friend and I used to check in on her and Maya a lot that's why she's more attached to me. Their wasn't much physical abuse for Maya but far too much emotional abuse that's why I want to protect her from everything. Surrounding her with love is a start. I'm going to see if she wants to talk about it

Deeks: I'll give it a try this time. we need a father daughter moment for a change

You had moments all day long but go ahead. I think she needs you on this one too.

Deeks went to go talk with Maya while the guys and I continued with our night of catching up, after a while I heard Maya laughing out loud, so I knew he got through to her. He joined us a while later while we were all having a beer and talking and I said "how did it go in there?"

Deeks: she's so much like you. She's a hard kid to crack, she said "daddy I don't want to talk about it"  and I kept pushing but got nothing until I tickled her, she's very ticklish and we had a long talk then she gave me a hug before I tucked her in

You could have just said it went well and im ont ticklish, you are

Deeks: I could prove myself right

No, don't tickle me. Your somewhat right. I'm glad Maya's ok and  I'm really glad she knows that she can talk to both of us about anything, not just me. Today was a good day

Deeks: the night is still young, where's my little man?

Nell put him to bed a while ago, he likes her

Deeks: he's never met a girl he doesn't like. The little guy is a ladies man

He's too much like you and I love that because sometimes you can be pretty amazing shaggy

Deeks: and your always amazing fern

He gave me a kiss and we joined the guys over in the living room
