I remember when we first met

Deeks POV

It's been a three months since kensi had her fall, three months since we lost out baby and my wife has been in a coma. Over this period she's been improving so I'm not giving up on her. When I first came in here she wasn't doing much of anything without the help of numerous times and wires to monitor her and now she's breathing on her own and out of the intensive care unit so that's good. Her doctor said its all up to her to wake up now so I'm in everyday, I only leave to pick up the kids from school and take them home to get settled. Their very understanding in all of this and absolutely hate it when I leave their mom alone so this hospital has pretty much been my home for the last two months. Its really hard for me going back to work because its the place where my whole world fell apart so I took some time off to be with her, the guys visit everyday to make sure we're both ok and honestly o don't know if I am. Life's going on and my wife isn't moving with it. Knowing that she may never wake up tears me apart, but I try not to think like that. Only positive thoughts.

The team just entered with our kids, its a Saturday morning so this is our new normal

Maya: hi daddy

Hey princess, what's all that stuff you got there?

Maya: oh, that's my make up kit. What do you think I usually do when you leave me alone with mom? We don't get to do anything together anymore so makeovers is all I get. I'll even give her hair some volume and body, I have a lot of free time these days

Well you do spend all your time at the hospital, you should get a hobby

Maya: you said that months ago and I did. Sasha and I decided to become candy stripers. The uniform is super cute and I have a reason other than mom to be here everyday

That's last part isn't true, but if that's what you want to do then I don't see why not. Try not to burn my wife with that curling iron

Sasha: that's an a mature move, fixing hair is my special skill. My hair doesn't get like this over night

I figured since its orange, last week was pink so we'll see what it will look like next week

Maya: its a dark orange and its super cute.

I just noticed that tour hair is gold now Maya

Maya: super cute right? I wanted platinum blond bit I decided to give this a try first and no nose ting anymore since you made the point that you hate it

Mason: what an effort you've made. Aren't you two supposed to be working right now?

Maya: mom's on our patient list and she's the reason we got these jobs so it wouldn't make sense if we didn't have quality girl time. I know you miss her, we all do

Mason: I just want her to wake up already

Maya: we all want that, don't worry mason. She'll be awake soon and things might be a little different but at least she'll be with us. Do you want to show dad the super cool video game we bought yesterday?

Mason: yeah, that would be fun but I didn't bring it

Maya: check my bag, I think you'll be surprised what you find in there

Mason: your a pretty cool sister sometimes

Maya: well your a pretty cool brother all the time, its about time I returned the favor. I packed your favorite things because we'll be here all day. Mom and I have a lot to discuss, she's a great listener these days

Mason: I bet

I went to give kensi a kiss goodbye before I went to get us breakfast and when I touched her face I felt her hand on mine and her eyes opened so I said "it took you long enough to wake up fern"
