~Serena's POV~

After the darkness came a wave of information came at me.

I don't know who gave me it. It just came.

So, apparently the horse is my spirit animal. That basically sums it up.

The darkness wasn't that dark anymore and I could hear voices.

I forced my eyes open to see Gandalf standing over me with Thorin.

"Explain," Thorin says to me as I sit up. I realized that it was probably just I few minutes I was out.

"Where is she? Where's the horse?," I said with worry in my voice.

"She is fine, she is trying to be tamed by Dwalin, Fili, and Kili," Thorin said.

"What!" I screamed.

I heard panicked whinnying and ran through the woods into a clearing.

They had a rope tied around her neck! While Dwalin held the rope Fili and Kili were trying to touch her. Seeing her trying to rear and in so much distress made me ach inside. The only thing that made me feel better was that she had a bandage on her wound.

"Stop!" I said while running at them.

They looked at me, but returned to what they were doing.

When I got there I kicked Dwalin in the stomach and made him let go of the rope. He groaned and fell to the ground. I let go of the rope and let her run off into the woods.

Someone caught me off guard and tackled me. I looked up to see Kili pinning me on my back to the ground.

"Get off of me!" I screamed.

He stayed on me. I started thrashing around, but I couldn't get out of his hold.

The rest of the company appeared as Kili started to tie my hands behind my back.

"Untie me! Now!" I screamed at him.

"How do I know that I can trust you?" He said.

"And you have a lot of explaining to do!" Thorin said to me.

I sighed and stopped struggling against my binds.

"What do you want to know," I said looking at the ground.

"Why that horse is so important to you for you to kick me in the stomach!" Dwalin said angered.

I sighed and said, "That horse is my spirt animal. When she touched me we became bonded. Now if she dies, I die and the same thing the other way around. You know the legend from when Gandalf told you about my people."

"Who are your people?" Kili asked.

There is no escaping this.

"I-I- I'm a skin-changer," I say quietly.

I got more gasps and death glares.

"How do we know you won't betray us?" Fili said angularly.

"If I wanted to kill you I would have already done so." I replied quietly.

"What animal can you turn into?" Balin asks clearly interested in the topic.

"I'm a special skin-changer and can turn into a dragon, horse, and wolf."

"She is cursed and will be the death of us all!" Gloin said.

He ran at me with his axe raised and I put me knees to my chest. I closed my eyes and waited for impact. But it never came.

I opened my eyes and turned my head to see Kili holding Gloin's axe back.

Gloin stopped forcing it to go down on me and walked away grumpily. I looked into my Hero's eyes and saw sympathy.

"Let her go. You already have the information you need." Kili said.

"Not until she changes into her other forms for us." Thorin said.

"I can't do it unless my hands are free," I said still not looking them in the eye.

Thorin gave a signal to Kili that he may release me.

As he kneels down he said, "You don't need to do this if you don't want to."

"It's ok, you deserve to know and see."

He stood up and held out a hand for me to take. I took it gratefully and stood up.

I walked backwards a few steps and then stopped. I kneeled down on one knee with the palms of my hands flat on the ground. I looked at all of them with a smirk and then put my head down.

I changed into my dragon which scared most of them. I took a few steps toward them and put my head down in front of them. Gandalf reached out and placed his hand on my snout. Everyone looked at me in awe.

I then backed up again and changed into my horse form. They were still amazed at me. I trotted over and Gandalf patted my neck. I rocked my head up and down, and some of them laughed. I felt another hand on me and flinched. It was Kili, and he looked sorry. I just turned my body so I was facing him. He held up his hand and I nuzzled deeply into it. He laughed and that laugh made my heart soar across the night sky.

I backed up and turned into my wolf form and padded over. Gandalf didn't touch me and warned the rest of the Dwarves not to because my wolf instincts could turn on them.

One of the Dwarves said that why should they trust me if I could turn on them. I turned and growled at them and then realizing what I did I whimpered and ran off. With my wolf ears I could hear Gandalf explain that I was trying to work on my wolf form.

I ran to the far side of the clearing and stopped. I turned to see everyone leaving the clearing except for someone.

Kili.

I waited until everyone was out of the clearing and ran back to Kili in my wolf from.

I shifted into a human and didn't look at him.

"Why are you looking away?," He asked.

"I'm a monster."

"No, your the most beautiful creature I have ever laid eyes on." he said this while lifting my chin up with two fingers.

I didn't know what happened.

He kissed me on my lips with his. I pulled away quickly not expecting it.

"I'm sorry. I don't know why I did that." he said.

"It's ok." I said not knowing what else to say.

We looked at each other and smiled.

We walked back to camp still feeling awkward about what happened.
