~Kili's POV~

When Gandalf and the others came back Serena disappeared.

I went on a balcony and found her walking to the center of a field.

She looked so beautiful in that dress.

When she got to the center she laid down.She was looking at all the stars.

I saw movement at the edge of the forest and was ready to call out to her. It turned out to be that horse.

She heard the noise and got to her feet. The horse was very skittish, but came to her.

Serena reached out her hand and the horse sniffed it.

When it finally touched her she didn't pass out thankfully.

She moved her hands down the horses back and on its neck.

The horse seemed please.

I heard approaching foot steps. I turned to see Gandalf standing there.

He walked over and leaned on the rail watching Serena.

"Can you tell me about Serena?" I asked him.

He sighed and said, "Do you promise you won't use the information against her?"

"I would never, you have my word."

He sighed and told me everything. He told me how Azog led an attack on her village. How she got her cloak and weapons. How they met and how bad it all affected her.

"Wow," was all I could say.

"Do you care for her?" He asked me.

This caught me off guard, but I knew the answer right away.

"I do," I replied.

"Just please, do not break her heart." Gandalf pleaded.

"I would never do such a thing."

"Good," he said.

We turned our attention back to Serena.

The horse wanted to play and was nipping at her cloak that she had on over her dress.

They ran around and played. The horse bounding around and Serena chasing it. Me and Gandalf laughed at the sight.

I decided to meet her in the field after a while.

When I got there and I was walking towards Serena they were laying down.

The horse heard me coming and got up. it started pawing at the ground acting terrified.

"Calm down Saphira!" Serena said.

"I'm sorry!" I said. I was making a fool out of myself.

"It's ok. I'm glad you came because I need her to trust you." She said while stroking her horse's face.

"How do you know her name?" I asked curiously.

"When we touched a second time we developed a mind link."

"Oh. What's she saying now."

"Oh, ummm. She kind of what's to kill you right now for trying to tame her." she said kind of in a worried tone and rubbing the back of her neck.

"I need you to show her that she can trust you." she said.

"Ok, what do I need to do?"

"Can you kneel down on one knee and extend your arm? Also put your head down so you aren't starring at her?"

"Yes Ma'am," I said, "is this what you did when you first saw her?"

"Yes. it's a sign of trust and peace."

I do as she says and the horse walks over to me slowly.

She sniffs my hand and snorts.

"She accepts you, but still doesn't like you." Serena said.

"Good enough for me." I say.

Serena yawns and looked tired.

"I think it's time to get you to bed. Tell your pony you said bye-bye." I said in a baby voice.

If horses could give you an evil eye I swear that that horse was giving it to me.

I backed away and looked at Serena for help. she laughed and said goodnight to Saphira.

We were walking back to our chambers when I noticed she was leaning on me.

"I can carry you if you would like."

"Yes please," she said opening her arms up.

I picked her up bridal style which surprised her. I smiled at her and she smiled back.

When we got to the door of her chamber I put her down.

"Thank you," she said.

"No problem," I responded.

"For that and when you came into my life. You gave me something to live for, Kili. You gave me something to fight for." she said looking into my eyes.

Serena put her lips to mine. I kissed her back and put my arms around her. I held her tightly. she put one hand on the back of my head and one on my chest grabbing my tunic.

We pulled away for air, but before I could say anything she opened the door to her chamber.

"Goodnight Kili" was all she said before closing the door.

I stood there with eyes wide.

I stood there alone.

I stood there missing Serena's presence.

I stood there waiting for her to come back.
