"What is it Josh?" I asked nervously.
"Well, Lauren.." He started, taking a deep breath. "I really like you. Like really really like you. If I'm honest I'm head over heels in love with you. You're just perfect. When I first met you I thought you were beautiful, not just in looks, you also have a beautiful personality. Your smart, funny and so down to earth. You're my best friend and I know I'd be lost without you. And I really do mean it when I say I love you Lauren. So i'd like to ask, will you be my girlfriend?"
I froze. Did he actually just say all that to me? I felt my body shake slightly. I could see from the corner of my eye Josh's hands shaking as he fiddled with them. It showed he was nervous. My heart beat fast against my chest. A wave of happiness flowed through me and I instantly wrapped my arms around his neck again and crashed my lips against his. I felt him smile through the kiss and it made me smile too. I felt sparks fly as he gently held one of his hands on my lower back and the other slid through my hair. Our lips moved perfectly in sync and I wished the moment would last forever.
However it did not as we were interrupted by Josh's mum bursting through the door. We both pulled away quickly feeling embarrassed.
"Ah, thought I'd find you two in here. Hope I'm not interrupting anything but Lauren Paul just called and he needs you home ASAP." She said before quickly walking away, her heels clicking on the wooden floor behind her.
Me and Josh both exchanged looks before laughing together.
"So was that a yes then?" He asked, snaking his arms around my waist.
"Yeah, it was." I smiled back giving him a quick hug.
