It's been almost 2 weeks since I was kidnapped and bought here. Ryder keeps telling me I'm not a prisoner but I've asked to leave and tried to leave many times, it never works, I haven't even been allowed to contact my family at all, they may say I'm not a prisoner but I sure do feel like I am. It hasn't been all bad though, I've learned a few things, Ryder is the Captain of the king's guard and that Norrix, who I thankfully haven't seen sense the first day, well he is the king...yup that's right that asshat is the king.

Apparently everything we all believe to be myths and fairy tales aren't, vampires, elves, fairies, trolls, nymphs, sirens, the list goes on and on. There are 3 original types though that every other subspecies comes from. Ryder tried to explain to me how a troll could be born from one of the 3 but it made me more confused I mean how is it possible? The 3 aren't even close to looking like trolls, there's of course the vampires, they really aren't like the movies or books make them out to be. They aren't disgusting monsters or sparkly pussies. They can go outside with no problem, eat garlic, bathe in holy water if they wanted, they also eat real food but they do need to drink blood, it's where they get all the nutrition they need to survive.

Then we have shape shifters which includes the ever popular werewolf, from what Ryder told me, at birth the baby goes through a ritual that gifts them with their destined animal, which could be anything like, a lion, wolf, bobcat, an eagle, a bear pretty much any animal that lives above water.

And the third of the Originals are called Dragon Spirits, and as you can guess they can shift into dragons and they can also control an element, they are gifted the power at birth over one element.

There is stuff that Ryder won't tell me yet though and I don't understand why. He won't tell me how all of them started or just what I am suppose to be saving them from. Every time I bring either up he just changes the subject. It's frustrating I mean how am I suppose to prepare if they don't tell me what I'm preparing for? Guess he'll eventually tell me.

One thing though, I find it 100% strange and quite off how comfortable I've become here, with them, so quickly let alone at all. For some reason I feel like I am right where I am suppose to be. Don't get me wrong I miss my family terribly and I want to go home, sometimes it hurts and saddens me to think how they must be freaking out but there is something about this place that makes me want to stay to, also to do what everyone is expecting me to do, to save them. Though I still don't see how they think I can when they are stronger than me and definitely way more powerful.

"Norrix I have to tell her, she deserves to know, needs to know, and you know that." I said to my long time friend and king.

"Ryder I know but I can't see it going all that well, everything she's ever thought about herself is wrong. Telling her everything right now may just break her." Norrix said softly.

"Seriously? You're worried about that now? Not when you made her crash her car? Really! What if waiting hurts her even more than telling her now?" I asked sounding defeated and tired even to my own ears, avoiding her questions and bending the truth with her is eating at me.

"I'm sorry Ryder but I don't think it's a good idea. I think you're more worried that she'll hate you if you wait and continue to lie to her, you've actually been spending time with her and I believe your feelings are deepening and my friend that is a dangerous path to be heading down with this one, you know what with what her future holds." Norrix said with a touch of sadness in his voice that I'd only heard once before he continued with a warning tone, " and with who her biological father is to". with a chuckle.
