Walking into the void it changed into the meadow. 'Surprise, Surprise!' I thought laughing. I closed the door behind me and made my way to the middle of the meadow where a tiny pond was. Every time I come here it's summer time, mid day, sunny, nice and warm, with a cool breeze, the perfect summer day. Every single time...it has to mean something. I took the blanket out laying it near the water and setting the cooler and bag off to the side and taking a swig of my coffee before laying down to enjoy the sun.
'Hate to interrupt your enjoyment but if you forgot we are hungry,' Annilit said bluntly.
"Okay, okay" I said sitting up, dragging the cooler to me. "Fruit good?"
'sounds delicious' She agreed. I just sat there for awhile till I was full, I put the bowl of fruit away, drinking more coffee.
"So I don't know how to get the void to talk so I figure we just lay here, relax enjoy the sun and wait a bit if it doesn't work then we'll figure something else out." I said
'Works for me,' Annilit said.
I laid there in silence for a long time at one point I must of fallen asleep cause next thing I know I am waking up to the buzzing of my phone, "Hello Ryder," I said not bothering to check to see who it is.
"Tana thank god I've been calling for 20 minutes. What's going on in the void?" Ryder asked.
"Nothing why?" I asked.
"Because the fucking door is gone! that's why!" Ryder yelled.
"What are you talking about I'm looking at the door right now." I said staring at the door.
"Than humor me and come open it, please," Ryder said desperately.
"Okay hold your horses," I said running over to the door, opening it to see Ryder looking tired and extremely worried till he saw me and relief flooded his face, his shoulders sagging as the worry lifted. In the blink of an eye I was wrapped in his arms.
"Oh thank god I was so worried, I still don't understand why there's no door on this side. I'm just glad you can get out." Ryder said into my hair as he hugged me tighter.
'Tana,' I heard a woman whisper behind me. I turned my head to see no one behind me, 'Tana don't leave, only a bit longer, I knew there would be interruptions, please don't give up,' the woman whispered
"Hey Ryder? Could you bring me some hot food, all I have is cold stuff and I can't leave I have this feeling I'm soon going to get my answers." I said looking back at the meadow.
"Um sure what would you like to wat sweetie?" He asked.
"Um...Oh stuffed mushrooms with ham in them, and a chicken parm sub." I said getting hungry.
"Okay I'll be back soon, I'll call you so you can open the door." Ryder said giving me a kiss.
"Okay," I said as he walked away, I closed the door again and walked over to the blanket settling down on to it chugging a monster. About 45 minutes later Ryder called me to open the door, "Still no door on your side?" I aske as I opened the door.
"Yea no door, it's weird, I've never seen this happen..." Ryder said.
"Well soon I am going to find out why this is happening." I said leaning against the door.
"Your sound so sure something is going to happen." Ryder said.
"Because I am, the void already told me, I think she's just waiting for you to stop interrupting." I said.
"She?" Ryder asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yes she, the voice I heard was a woman."
"Okay well here's your food, I won't bother you again until you call me," He said handing me the bag of food, "But I hope it's fast cause if there's no door that means we are all trapped here," he finished by kissing me on the forehead before walking away.
