Chapter 7

((A/N)) the picture above is of Buddies Groceries which is actually located in Oakland, ME, where I am from, I live in Florida now and writing about Oakland makes my homesickness a little less strong.

As we walked out of the portal I was glad I grabbed a hoodie, it was surprisingly chilly.  I glanced around looking a Buddies Groceries, the only grocery store in town and the little shop around us. People were openly staring at us at first I thought maybe the human water hadn't worked but I quickly realized it was probably the massive wolf and two hot guys on either side of me. We quickly crossed the road to our vehicle, which was a big SUV this time.

"I figured Raiju could use the leg room," Ryder said as I opened the hatch for Raiju who quickly jumped  in. I closed the hatch and quickly got in.

we drove in silence for a few minutes until Norrix turned around from the front seat and said, "it's okay to be nervous but you have nothing to fear, they'll be so happy to see you, your mother made us promise to bring your for a visit. she loves you."

"I know but I can't help it, I'll be better once I see her," I hope...

He gave me a smile turning around. it didn't take long to get there, before I knew it we were on my street and turning into my driveway. I found myself getting excited but at the same time more nervous. I forced myself to get out of the SUV and went to let Raiju out.

'Raiju you can't leave my side, ok? I need you' I thought

"I'll be right by your side, unless you say otherwise." Raiju said

'Thanks' I thought.

He rubbed his head against my side as I grabbed his leash. I closed the hatch just as Ryder walked up taking my hand, pulling me to his side, subtly making me walk to the door. I hesitated just staring at the door so Norrix leaned past me and knocked on the door.

After a moment the door flew open reveling my brothers friend Bryan, "can I help you?"

"Yea...is my mom here?" I asked forgetting my nervousness, "are you going to let me in?"

"Tana? Wow you look different, good, yea come on in. WHAT IN GODS NAME IS THAT THING!!?" he yelled staring at Raiju.

I chuckled as I laid my hand on Raiju's head, "This is Raiju, and he's a wolf."

"I can see what it is but what I don't understand is why he is so huge?"

"Don't know, now move," I said stepping into the house, "Mom?" I called out as I took off his leash and set it on the table. "Tana?" I heard her yell from upstairs followed by the sound of a stampede. My mom ran into the room followed by Derek and Beth, Derek and I's best friend since we were toddlers.

"Oh honey I've missed you so much," My mom said as she flung herself at me, wrapping me up in her arms. I was barely able to hug her back before she was pushed aside by a angry Beth. Which wasn't to scary she was a tiny little thing, all 95lbs 5ft 2in of her. "How dare you just leave without telling me, how dare you not take me with you!"
