Evelyn Hall's POV - 30 / 08 / 2011 : Beacon Hills

"What the hell is this?" Scott exclaimed angrily, as he looked between Derek, Peter and I.

"You know, I thought the same thing when I saw you talking to Gerard at the sheriff's station." Derek retorted,

"Woah, woah. What!?" I asked, as Scott began to explain himself,

"Okay, hold on. He... He threatened to kill my mom. And I had to get close to him. What was I supposed to do?" Scott turned his glare onto me, "What are you doing?"

"Okay, hold on. He... He threatened to kill you. And I had to get close to him. What was I supposed to do?" I retorted mocking him,

"Who is he?" Isaac asked butting in.

"That's Peter, Derek's Uncle. Little while back, he tried to kill us all, and then we set him on fire, and Derek slashed his throat." Scott rounded up the events of last year.

"Hi." Peter said smiling, as I stifled a laugh.

"That's good to know." Isaac said eyeing up Peter, before taking a cautious step back.

"How is he alive?" Scott asked, as I sucked in air,

"Look, the short version is he knows how to stop Jackson. And maybe how to save him." Derek said, as I tilted my head looking at Peter questioningly.

"Well, that's very helpful except Jackson's dead." Isaac said boredly,

"What?" Derek asked confused as he and Peter shared a troubled look.

"Yeah, Jackson's dead. It just happened on the field." Scott confirmed, as I worriedly looked at Peter,

"Okay, why is no one taking this as good news?" Isaac asked,

"Because if Jackson is dead, it didn't just happen. Gerard wanted it to happen."

"Gerard, what the hell does that old cow have to do with this?" Scott looked at me oddly, "I wasn't in the right state of mind for five days, and out cold for four," he nodded coming to the realisation that I knew nothing.

"But why?" Derek asked thinking aloud,

"Well, that's exactly what we need to figure out. And something tells me the window of opportunity is closing. Quickly." Peter said.

"I told you, I looked everywhere." Derek said for the umpteenth time, as Peter looked through a couple of drawers,

"You didn't look here." Peter said as he pulled out a leather bound laptop.

"What is that, a book?" Derek asked stupidly, as I sighed internally face palming at his lack of observation skills.

"No. It's a laptop. What century are you living in?" I laughed, patting Derek on the back, "A few days after I got out of the coma, I transferred everything that we had. Fortunately, the Argents aren't the only ones that keep records." Peter said smartly,

"They say he's in some kind of transparent casing made from the venom coming out of his claws." Derek said, as Peter taped away on the laptop,

"That sounds sufficiently terrifying." I said smirking,

"They also say he's starting to move." Derek continued, as he looked down at his cell phone.
"Okay, look, I think I found something. Looks like what we've seen from Jackson is just the Kanima's beta shape." My eyes widened,
