A.J.'s POV
The rest of the day dragged on rather slowly, Harry and I didn't discuss my stance on marriage and kids any further. Instead we had a great time with everyone once they had returned from wherever they had gone. It was a normal lazy day, after I had finished preparing the rooms my family would be staying in, we pretty much watched movies all day. It was finally the time my family's flight had landed and their cars had just pulled into the driveway. I felt the nervousness in the pit of my stomach grow. For some reason, I was worried about what they would think about Harry. It made no sense to me, my whole life I hadn't given a damn what they thought about me and yet here I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
As we all walked out to greet them, my grip on Harry's hand tightened, I was pretty sure I was cutting off his circulation, but I couldn't let go. The first person my eyes fall on was the large, dark, handsome man that stepped out of the second SUV.
"UNCLE DEREK," I yelled, pulling my hand free from Harry's, running passed Odette to throw myself at him. He caught me, easily, lifting me a few inches off the ground.
"Oh, baby girl, I missed you so much," he put me back on the ground, holding me at arm's length. "You are becoming more and more gorgeous everyday," he smiled wider, pulling my back to him, wrapping his large arms around me. "Happy late birthday, your papa would be so proud of the woman you're becoming," he whispered. I nodded, acknowledging what he said, silently.
Derek wasn't really my uncle, he, along with Victor and my father had been friends since childhood; sort of like, Samara, Natalie and I. Both my dad and Derek had served in the military when they were younger, Derek had retired and opened his own personal security business. Because my grandfather had insisted on not letting his grandchildren wonder around without any sort of protection, my dad had hired Derek, he said if he was going to trust anyone with his children's lives, it would be him. When my dad passed away, Derek had stayed, he became more than just a bodyguard, or my so called uncle, he was the only one that never let my dad's memory die. It was because of him that I still felt such a strong connection to me dad.
The next person to exit the car was a beautiful, short, dark haired girl, his daughter, Eva. "Sister from another mister," she smiled, pulling me into a hug as I basically pushed Derek out of my way to get to her. We hugged and jumped around like a bunch of idiots, screaming as we tried to get a word in. "Okay, okay, okay. First thing is first, happy birthday, one more year and you can legally come party with me," she smiled, knowing her comment would upset her dad. She wasn't the partying type, she was too focused on trying to make it as an actress, which was working out quite well for her as of late.
"Thank you, oh my god, I feel like I haven't seen you in years, I missed you."
"You wouldn't have to miss me if you would bother to call," she accused.
"Dito."
She rolled her eyes as she pulled me next to her, wrapping her arm around my waist. I was about to introduce them to Harry when my eye locked on the next two people to exit the car. I felt like the wind had been knocked out of me as I saw Theo and Natalie standing in front of me. I gasped for air, my knees buckling under me. I could feel as Harry got closer with his hands outreached behind me, trying to keep me vertical, Derek's hands doing the same, my weight was being supported solely by poor Eva. I shook my head at the both of them, gathering myself and standing up right as I tried to regulate my breathing.
