A.J.'s POV
It was another long day of running errands and doing tedious things that frustrated me. Olivia was surprisingly very good at her job. There was literally no reason for me to be here, except for my need to feel useful and not wanting to be locked up in the house with Harry all the time. I mean I loved him, but too much Harry could be quite overwhelming on the nerves. I was used to having my own space and now I had to share everything with him. It was just going to take some getting used to. Not to mention I was still pissed off about what I had found out yesterday.
Confident that Olivia had everything under control, I decided to head home. Besides, I had to figure out what to make for dinner. Harry's father was coming over tonight and my nerves were through the roof. At least he had given me a fair warning this time. Last time one of his parents had come over, I was basically in my pajamas. Though, now that I think about it, it wasn't that bad. Anne was amazing and it wouldn't have mattered in what way we met. There was something about Harry's family that just felt comfortable, I couldn't explain it.
I gathered up my many thing and shoved them into my bags. It was mostly paperwork and some art supplies I kept in my purse, just in case I got bored. Which I did at around the second hour I was here. I made my way through the white halls, which gave me a headache, I would have to talk to Olivia about getting them painted. Maybe I could ask Sam for some help with that too. After I had managed to get out of the maze of hallways, I was finally out in what was supposed to be the lobby area, which was equipped with a receptionist desk. I don't think I need a receptionist, but aside from that, the building was pretty much perfect otherwise. Just as the large, glass door and window in the front came into view, I noticed a man looking around, deciding if he was in the right place or not.
I stood still, watching him for a minute, he looked familiar, but a pillar was blocking my view, so I couldn't be one hundred percent sure. After finally deciding he was either in the right place or there was no harm in walking in to check, he pulled the door open, waling through, wiping his feet from the snow that stuck from the pacing he had been doing.
"Liam?" I asked the person walking into the new building that was going to be my office.
"Hey, um, A.J.," he smiled nervously.
A million questions began to run through my head before I settled on the most obvious one. "What are you doing here?" I had the audacity to ask, I knew there was only one reason for him to be here. My sister, Olivia. Now her insistence on my going home was clear.
He nervously rubbed the back of his neck as he searched for an answer. "I, um, I have an appointment, it-it's a work thing," he stuttered, that little liar.
I bit the insides of my cheeks to stop myself from laughing, looking at my watch. "Well, you better hurry, Ms. Travis has a lot of appointments today you don't want to keep her waiting," I teased. There was no way he had an appointment seeing as I had just bought the building and there were no others occupying it. In fact, it wasn't even open yet, it was brand new. I swear these guys thought I was an idiot.
His eyes went wide and his eyes almost popped out of their sockets. "How-did she-who..." he struggled with his words.
"It's my building Liam," I decided to end his suffering. "No one else besides us, the security guard and Olivia are here. I know you're not here to see me, so unless you're here for a meeting with Pete, my next best guess is that you're here to see my sister."
