Harry's POV

I watched as Katarina prepared a bag for Lux and Tommy, I didn't see the point, but she assured me, it was better to be prepared where kids are concerned. Her family had already been gone for almost an hour, her mood had drastically improved the moment they had shut the door behind them. Nina put up a small fight about letting Tommy go, I had a feeling it was only to piss off Katarina, she didn't seem to care much for him. I felt sorry for the little guy, but he seemed to be more attached to Victor, his dad and his nanny, his mom's attitude didn't really seem to bother him too much.

What bothered me the most, was Katarina's sudden mood changes. She was going from happy to angry too quickly for me to keep up. It took me awhile, but I finally figured out her mood would change whenever Theo was in the same room or she caught a glimpse of him. I tried to ask her about it again, but she only brushed it off as sibling banter.

I tried to believe her, but the looks that Chris and Samara gave him made it hard. I had even started to dislike him and I didn't really know him. The way Katarina acted around him was enough for me. What really set me over the edge was the nightmare she had the night before.

The moment she had fallen asleep in my arms, something felt wrong. Her breathing was off and her mind was somewhere else. At about two in the morning, I woke up to her screaming. Again, she brushed it off as nothing, but the way she shook in my arms and the sweat that covered her body, told me otherwise.

When we made our way to the kitchen where almost everyone was there, except her parents and kids. Samara asked if she was okay, I assumed everyone heard her screaming. I looked around, noticing everyone's faces. Derek and Chris looked at Theo with hard expressions, while he, Nina and Natalie were all smiling smugly. Eva and Olivia were immersed in a deep conversation to notice that we had even walked in. Chris made a sexual reference about her screaming that effectively removed the smiles from the their faces. I was about to say something, but I noticed Katarina give him a grateful yet annoyed smile.

"Can you go get the kids, babe," Katarina's voice broke me away from my thoughts.

Lou had dropped off, Lux about half an hour ago. The two kids got on immediately, Tommy had taken her to play with his toys while I had put the two car seats in my car.

A part of me wondered if this was what life would be like if Katarina and I were to ever get married and have kids of our own. I understood her resistance to the idea, she was afraid. Her entire life was made up of a series of disappointments, and it wasn't like she had a mom there to help her through any of it. She was right though, we were too young to even be thinking about marriage and starting a family. It wasn't like I wanted to do it tomorrow, but in the long run, I did see myself being with her for the long run. Maybe after today she would change her mind.

I watched as she got the two kids dressed in their winter gear before we headed outside and loaded them into their carseats. Katarina kept them entertained with games and singing children's songs the entire way. Once we arrived, I didn't know who was more excited, the kids or Katarina. I quickly realized that the way to Katarina's heart was; animals and juice boxes.

Her enthusiasm was contagious, with every animal we encountered, she made it a point to teach them an interesting fact about them. After awhile the kids grew tired, so we decided to call it a day and hit the gift shop before heading home.
