Rina and I walk through the halls of the pack house. At this hour, people and wolves flock every which way. Some are tussling and causing problems with others, some are just having conversation, and some are just simply walking alone. Nevertheless, every time Rina and I walk past a group, all heads turn toward us. I can see the confidence boosting inside of Rina as she holds onto my arm and guides me to the boys' hallway. She is basking in their stares. I on the other hand, fall deeper and deeper into a self conscious abyss. Every eye that scans my body makes me feel that much more insecure. I know I look like a piece of meat to them and it makes me feel like a walking ice cream cone on a hot summer's day, everyone wants a lick.

"Rina can we please hurry and get to Derek's room?" I complained in a hushed tone, trying to avoid being heard by the surrounding wolves.

She laughs, "I thought you were tough Lucia? A few guys looking at you is your weak point? Isn't that a little embarrassing for you?"

I huff. She took a shot at my pride and I'm not going to lie, it pisses me off a bit. Is having guys taking interest in me really my weak point? Now that I think about it, Greyson does have an advantage with me because he flirts with me and it throws me off my game.

"That is not my weak point" I fire back at her, contradicting my thoughts.

She smirks, taking my defensive retort as a way of proving she is right. I roll my eyes. There is no way I can convince her otherwise, I might as well just drop the whole thing.

Finally, after what felt like forever, we end up at Derek's door. I sigh in relief but I guess we are still a spectacle. Some guys are staring at us as they pass by in the hallway.

One of them whistles and shouts, "Stop by my place later ladies, room 216."

I turn to him angrily and lash out at him. Partially because I'm still mad at Rina's comment and partially because I'm hiding behind this anger to block my insecurities.

"Nobody is going to be stopping by your room you used piece of trash."

I hear Rina let out a muffled laugh. She is loving my reaction to this stranger and sadly for me, I just proved her point.

The man's smug face falls at my words, "What the hell did you just call me?"

I raise an eyebrow, "I'm sorry. Are you deaf?"

He growls angrily, I can see his eyes grow darker, signaling his wolf is present and clearly not in a good mood. "A fucking whore calling me trash?"

I laugh at his comment which only seems to make him more angry.

"Me? A whore? Oh man, you sure need to get your priorities straight and figure out who the hell you are talking to."

He takes a step closer, clearly being controlled by his wolf. His eyes are dark and menacing.

Rina whispers, "Lucia, you might want to stop egging him on. He looks like he might shift soon."

The man smirks, not a sexy smirk like Greyson's, but a malicious one. "Listen to your friend little girl. She knows what she is talking about."

I snicker, "It's funny. You know, the way you act like I should be scared of you. Yet if you listen carefully, the one with a rapid and nervous heartbeat is you. Sure you aren't the one who is scared of a little girl?"

A growl ripples through the air. I sense Rina step back hesitantly, but I only smirk. This is the kind of thing I'm good at.

"If you apologize now, I will consider not taking your head of." He spits through his teeth.
