Mission

It's the morning of the mission. To my surprise, I've done a great job of avoiding Greyson. Granted, we haven't had the opportunity to talk much considering we've been preparing for the mission these past two days, but it still feels like an accomplishment on my part.

At the moment, I'm walking to the Howler's Den with Rina right beside me. She's been telling me all about how her and Leo have been getting along great recently. Ever since they met, they've had this odd passion between the two of them. She just can't explain it in words, but honestly, she doesn't have to. I know the feeling. I have the same thing with Greyson.

"Honestly, I think I may love him..." Rina says from beside me. My head whips in her direction.

"Wait, what?" I ask completely confused. Did she just say love? Not like?

Her cheeks burn a rosy-red. Her eyes avert my own and rest on the ground. Clearly she's embarrassed. "Yeah... Honestly I've never felt this strongly for a guy. Actually, I've never felt this strongly about anyone before. It's like I want to protect him but I also want to be protected by him. It's as if he will always have my back, no matter what decision I make. We will always have each other. Plus the passion between us is so real. I just don't know what to do with it all."

All of these emotions sound familiar. "Well I think that's awesome Rina. I'm happy for the two of you! I really am. Do you want him to be your mate?"

"No doubt in my mind." She tells me. Then she blushes. "Actually, the other day we almost had a mishap, but luckily Leo caught himself."

"Huh?" I ask, completely confused.

"Well..." she tells me. "We were being intimate and let's just say his wolf almost brought him too far..."

"You mean he almost unintentionally did it with you?" I ask, trying to piece these things together.

She laughs, "no. If you're talking about sex, we've already done that. We were actually in the middle of it when his wolf almost marked me. That would have been bad considering Alpha Serg hasn't approved of us as a couple yet."

"Woah, woah, woah. You've had sex already with Leo?" I ask completely surprised. I thought Rina was like me. I thought we were both planning on waiting until we were mated with someone.

She giggles, "shh. Keep quiet." She shushes me. I look around to see some strangers giving us weird looks as we walk down the hall. My cheeks blush.

"Opps, my bad."

She shrugs it off, "it's fine. But yes, we did. I mean I know he is the one I want to be with for the rest of my life, and I know we will mate someday, so why not just have sex now? It's not like I gave myself to just anyone."

Huh, I guess that does make sense. "Wow. Good for you. It's pretty awesome that you get to be with him when you love him so much. You should treasure that."

"Oh I will. What about you Lucia?"

"What about me?"

"When will you admit your feelings to Greyson and let him know just how much you like him."

The mere mention of his name sends shivers through my body. My wolf's ears perk up excitedly, now liking where this topic is headed. I quickly shove her back down, knowing what I need to say in response to Rina's question.

"Oh that? I'm over him." My voice easily slips the lie from my tongue. I was a born liar. Masking my emotions is not a problem.

Rina's jaw drops to the floor. "What?"

"Yeah. I mean we were both just playing around."

Her face grows serious. "No. You weren't. You told me that you were basically feeling the same things I felt for Leo with Greyson."
