I yawn as I walk through the halls dressed in my maid attire. My arms reach high above my head as I stretch my body. Once my hands fall back to my side, I groan in slight pain due to my spinning head. My stomach feels dense and heavy. My throat tight and queasy. The pain last night has made me feel weird, more weird than normal. I even had to skip breakfast, I felt so sick. I hold my hand up to my forehead and sigh. It's a tad hotter than normal and it's throbbing.

Is this what Greyson meant when he said my wolf was going to start being affected? Is she finally starting to break down?

I make it to the hall where Marissa and I agreed to meet yesterday after I left from training. We're very close to the Alpha's and Beta's corridor. We'll probably be cleaning their rooms after all. That's pretty much what the maid service is for, besides keeping the public closets and bathrooms stocked.

I remember being a kid, living with my Mom and the Beta when they were happy - we were happy. Definitely not the picture perfect family. The Beta was always out working late hours but every time I would complain Mom would stand up for him on his behalf. She'd tell me "the amount he works shows just how much he loves us and wants to keep up safe and protected." I laugh at that now, but at the time, it helped me admire the Beta for his perseverance in keeping this pack stable and helping the Alpha run this pack of rogues.

I notice Marissa's straight dark black hair. She is off to the side talking to another maid. This maid is shorter than Marissa. She has short light brown hair. She looks rather friendly. Who knows, maybe I can make another female friend today.

"Hi guys," I announce as I approach the two girls.

Marissa turns to me with sparkles in her eyes as she smiles and bows in my direction, "Good morning Lucia."

The maid next to her notices me and her eyes widen as she stumbles to turn in my direction and bow, "Good morning, Luna."

I laugh and wave my hand back and forth in a dismissing manner, "I'm no Luna, please you two don't have to be so formal and bow to me. I'm a maid just like the two of you. We are equals."

As I say that the new maid raises her head and looks at my with shock. It's the good kind of shock as she smiles brightly and turns to Marissa, "you were right! She really is down to earth." Her cheeks blush bright red as she turns to me again, "I am so sorry!! That was really rude of me... I talk a lot when I'm nervous, like a lot a lot. My name is Shawna, it's super duper nice to meet you!"

I laugh aloud at her random jabber. "Nice to meet you Shawna." I turn to Marissa, "so what will I be doing today?"

"Well today is bathrooms. We have to thoroughly clean the Alpha's, Beta's, Damien's, Milena's, and Palmers. Then after, we restock the main closets in the girls and boys hall. Then restock the closets in the basement for the suites, and lastly check in with Howlers Den to make sure they don't need anything."

"Okay, let's get started then," I comment.

Marissa nods and leads us off to the cleaning supply closet. There we gather all the cleaning materials needed for the first portion of the day. We head over to the Alpha's room. Marissa knocks three times, just to be sure we aren't disturbing him. When he doesn't reply she takes it as the go ahead. She takes out a bundle of keys and sifts through them. Finally finding the one she wanted, she unlocks the door and we step into the room. I'm not surprised by the large nature of the room itself. He and the Beta have very similar rooms and I've seen the Beta's many times.

A king sized bed lies in the center of the room pushed against the wall. It is dwarfed by the sheer size of the room. The comforter is a mixture of grey, white, and blue. The rest of the room has these colors as well, mixed into the decor. The room is so large that there is a whole living/sitting area in front of the TV because of the distance between the bed and the television. It's very clean and tidy in the room. Almost as if no one lives here, which is almost true in a sense. The Alpha is rarely ever in his room. He only comes here to sleep. He's an intimidating man who is constantly working to keep this dysfunctional pack running smoothly. It really makes me wonder how fast this pack will fall apart once his lazy-ass son becomes Alpha.
