**JJ's POV**

This was it, I walked into Radio City Hall and watched as all the commotion was going on around me. They were setting up the tables, the large screens and all of the cameras for tonight. Last month at the combine, I had worked my ass off trying to impress all of those coaches there that day. Today was the day I find out if I in fact impressed one of them.

The only thing that was making this difficult and hard to concentrate was the fact that I was in the same city Samantha was in. I could almost feel her energy- as soon as we landed I could feel it. It's like she was the heart beat of this city, or at least the reason for my heart beating. She was so close but yet I wouldn't be able to see her at all during this trip since I was going to be so busy prepping for tonight and doing a ton of interviews.

I knew for a fact my mother was going to go she her matinee show of Wicked today and then meet her for lunch and deep down I was jealous and wanted to see her too but I had to stay focused- now more than ever.

My trainer Matt came up from behind me and slapped his hand over my shoulder, "You ready buddy?"

I let out a huge sigh and replied, "As ready as I'll ever be."

"Hey- you were one of the most impressive guys out there and I'm not just saying that because I'm biased and I trained you." he winked and then headed off in another direction.

**Samantha's POV**

I had just finished up my first show of the day and was standing out at the back stage door saying hi and signing some playbills- but really I was keeping my eye out for Connie. I hadn't seen her in a little over a year and I missed her like my own mother. I finally could see her after the line dwindled down and I ran over and met her half way wrapping my arms as tight as I could around her.

"Oh sweetheart- you were pure perfection out there my love!"

"Connie! I missed you so much, thank you so much for coming out to my show! I know how busy you guys are on this trip out here. It's so nice to have someone out there in the audience who I know. How's everyone doing? What hotel are you guys staying in? It better be the best in town!" I said to her and she laughed.

"I mean- it's not the Ritz-Carlton, but it's also not roach infested!" she replied, "I'm sorry no one else came with me. The boys are all just wrapped up with all of the ESPN and football stuff."

I had reserved almost a whole row for everyone to come see the show, but I should've figured the guys wouldn't of came. Especially not JJ- I haven't seen him since the night we broke up almost 4 years ago now.

"Oh don't worry about it! I'm just glad you could sneak over. Wanna go grab some cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery with me?"

She linked arms with me, "I thought you'd never ask my darling!"

"My treat!" I said while rubbing her arm. I was so happy to have my "mom" back here and with me, even if it was only for a couple hours.

"Come on Sammy- we've got to go! You know I've got that friend who's a Rockette, she can totally sneak us into Radio City and get us up in one of those balconies to watch! Aren't you just the least bit curious about what's gonna happen?" Tabitha asked while munching on one of the coconut cupcakes I brought back from the bakery.

"Well of course I'm curious!- but that's totally spying." I told her while licking some coconut off her outstretched finger pointing at me.

"Samantha Lily Coldwell, are you out of your damn mind?! Spying?! It's going to be broadcasted live on like a shit load of channels! So it's either we go and watch it live- or we sit her stuffing our faces with cupcakes watching it on tv."

"That is a dangerous combination." I admitted.

"So it's settled then- were heading to Radio City baby! Got any black stuff to wear?" She asked me.

"Tabs- it's New York...my whole closet is basically a black abyss."

**JJ's POV**

This was it, I was standing backstage waiting for them to announce my name and what team had drafted me. I was sitting with all of my family before when they called me up and told me I was going to be announced soon. My whole body was buzzing- maybe it was the excitement of it all but quite frankly, my whole body has been buzzing since we got here and I haven't felt my body buzz this way since I saw Samantha all ready for my sophomore year homecoming dance.

"And with the 11th pick of 2011 NFL draft...the Houston Texans select...JJ Watt, defensive end, Wisconsin."

My whole family hugged me and congratulated me before I walked out on stage with the Texans hat on. It was all a whirlwind of chaos. To be honest, I sort of blacked out. I swear I could hear what sounded like a female scream out but then it sounded like it was quickly muffled by something else.

I stood up there taking pictures for what seemed like forever- I just wanted to get back to my family and let this all sink in. It was crazy- I did it. I reached my goal of being drafted in the NFL and I just wanted to go tell Samantha that she didn't break up with me for no reason after all. No matter what situation I was in- that girl was always on my mind and I was secretly hoping she was watching right now to see how hard I've worked.

**Samantha's POV**

"...the Houston Texans select...JJ Watt, Wisconsin."

Tabitha shot up from our seats way up high in the dark balcony where no one could see us, and she shrieked at the top of her lungs, but I quickly threw my hands over her mouth and pulled her down next to me.

"Are you bat shit crazy Tab? Screaming, really?"

"What?! That's the dude you gave your V card to- aren't you the least bit happy?"

"Of course I am, but I don't want the first time he sees me in close to 4 years is in handcuffs being escorted out of the NFL Draft!" I said like a mother scolding her little child.

On the inside- I was so proud of my JJ. He did it after all, he did what I told him to do and I know he'll just work even harder to prove himself worthy of this. Was it time to see him again and tell him that in person? Or on the phone? I didn't know if I could handle seeing him so close. Even just tonight seeing him down on that stage that I've been on multiple times in my life was so overwhelming. He looked bigger, older than the last time I saw him.

My whole body tingled, just knowing we were in the same room as each other and then when I saw him my whole body felt like it had lit on fire from the inside out. He still was my one true love- I just didn't know if we could ever be together again. Especially now that he was just drafted- he'll never have time for me. Nor will he have time for me, I'm sure he'll be surrounded by beautiful women all the time. The cheerleaders alone would drive any man mad.

"Come on Tabby- let's so stuff our faces with that sugar after all."

I was officially depressed, I felt like my future was walking away from me when I watched him walk off that stage.
