{{Author's note:: I feel like I am rushing in the story. To be honest, I didn't know I was even going to spend this much time and detail on JJ and Samantha's relationship in the beginning but felt like I had to have that in there so people reading could tell how much they love each other and how much they have been through together. I feel like now is when their relationship begins to take a turn and you'll have to keep reading to see what happens :) I think it's gonna start getting good/juicy! So any feedback would be appreciated from you guys, letting me know if it's any good or if the route is taking is a good one. You can even PM me if you'd like or just comment on the chapters! Thanks so much for reading, I appreciate it! I honestly though I was just going to write this myself and no one would actually get around to reading it so it feels great to see some of you are really enjoying it.}}
*SAMANTHA'S POV*
I was gliding down the escalators in the airport in NYC, I had been here a couple of times over the past couple of years but it felt good to actually be here full time for a bit and keep me distracted from missing my boyfriend. My agent, Richard; I like to call him Richie for short since he seems to always snag the top talent of Broadway and make profits off of him. Don't get my wrong, he was like a fabulous gay uncle to me, but he could definitely be a snake, but that's the mentality here in New York. He was there holding a sign with "COLDWELL" bedazzled on it and I couldn't help but giggle when I saw him. "You look fabulous as always darling, so chic! New York has missed you my darling. It looks good on you!" He said while wrapping me into a warm embrace. I was wearing tight, skinny jeans, brown booty heels, a white cotton flow-y blouse accessorized with a faux fur vest and floppy hat to match. There was nothing worse than looking like a tourist in New York so I had to dig deep into my wardrobe to pull out some of the most NYC looking outfits I could find. I know I'll have to go buy some more outfits after I've booked a few shows and made some serious dough.
We were coasting through the busy streets of New York in a large black escalade. We're definitely not in Wisconsin anymore Toto. "So, how's that man hunk of a boyfriend you got? All settled in his tiny 2'x2' dorm room with all of his Greek God like teammates?!" Richie asked me and I could't help but laugh at the sight of him picturing the football team in nothing but their jockstraps! "You're a perv Richie!-but he's good. I think he's excited to be playing in college, he's been working hard for it that's for sure."
"Well, now it's time for you to work hard my darling! I've got productions knocking down my door for your talent. Not to mention the critics are dying to see you perform on the stage again!" he said while clasping his hands together. "Yeah, I just bet they're all ready to write and compare me to my mother and ask the question, 'will she be a drop out like her own mother?' yeah can't wait." I said while rolling my eyes and looking back out the window. I was not myself today and I felt bad taking it out on Richie, but today was a shitty one. I had to say goodbye to everyone I loved and it was tough and I know I'll be better tomorrow. "So, this next surprise will cheer you up my little peach!" I looked over at him and gave him an apologetic glance and asked him what that surprise might be.
"Well, I know you thought you were gonna have to be posted up in a hotel for a couple of weeks but I went ahead and got you a small penthouse to begin with. It's fully furnished and everything all part of the rent. Now, I've got the first two months covered, but you my darling are going to be making it big in no time so I'm not worried that you'll be homeless anytime soon!" Oh God, a fully furnished penthouse in NYC, that's gonna be a small fortune every month! I had to get to work and soon. "So when is my first meeting and audition?" I asked and he looked over at me with a sparkle in his eye. "That's my little tiger! Tomorrow, we have a casting call meeting with Les Mis. Thankfully it's the same producer as when you played young Cosette when you were 7, so he still remembers you and wants you to come full circle and play teenage Cosette and I think it's absolutely brilliant! You'll be perfect for it."
Les Mis right off the bat? And a main role none the less! I was gonna have to dust off my vocal cords to hit those opera notes and brush up on my english accent for this one. It was going to be hard, but it was going to test me if I was gonna make it out here in the big leagues.

This was it, the opening night to my first musical here in New York since coming out of what Richie likes to call my "teenage hiatus years" and I was looking around for Connie. I stayed in touch with her and talked to her every single day. She kept me sane, I have been working non stop since I landed the role in the play. I can't say I've kept in contact with JJ as much as I have with his mother but that's okay-I understood football was his priority and Connie told me she only talked to him about 3 times a week as well. It had only been about a month since we were separated but the good thing is it hasn't felt that long due to being so busy but I was supposed to go see him one long weekend in 2 weeks when I get a little break from all of this madness and I was counting down the days till I could see him again. I sent Connie tickets just like she had asked, I sent her 3 telling her she can bring whoever she wanted while secretly hoping JJ would come out and surprise me, but knowing that was close to impossible for that to happen.
I was sitting in my dressing room thanking God that I didn't start till after the first intermission of the play and had more than enough time to put this ridiculous wig on and this massive dress. "Knock knock, I brought you some fans!" I could hear Richie say and turned around to see Connie holding a bouquet of flowers with grandma standing behind her and TJ. I was surprised to see him, but Connie probably brought him with since he was young and so John could work. And I knew TJ secretly loved when I sang and had even told me I sounded like an angel when he was 5. He was my first fan that's for sure. He looked more and more like JJ every day so it was still nice to see all of their love and support for me on my big night. Connie held out the flowers to me and I said, "Thank you, they're gorgeous!"
"No need to thank me, check the card!" Connie responded with a wide smile on her face.
To my love,
I know you are going to absolutely crush it out there on the stage tonight! You are my beauty and when you sing the heavens open up and your mother is smiling down on you!
As all you theater geeks say, break a leg babe!
Love always,
JJ
My eyes were burning but I knew I couldn't ruin my makeup so I just waved my hands in my face like an idiot. "He feels awful that he couldn't be here for you, but I'm sure you know he's here with you in spirit and so is your mom." I hugged her and couldn't let go, the familiarity felt so good after being so alone here the past couple of weeks.

The first show went great, I knew once I stepped out onto that stage this is where I was born to be. The nerves left me and I just performed. After I hit one dramatic last note of a song, I could've sworn I heard an echo of sniffles coming from the audience. I changed into normal clothes but still had all of my stage makeup on when I was beckoned back onto the stage. When I walked out, my fellow castmates, Richie and my "family" were there holding a fruit tart with a candle in it and all at once said congratulations while I blew out the candle. It felt good to feel all of that love again, but in my heart-I knew the most important love in my heart was missing from this huge part of my life. I missed him and for the first time in a couple of years, I felt disconnected to him. Like he was just a ghost in my life now and in that moment I myself felt like a ghost, like an empty shell of a person.
