**JJ's POV**
It's a couple of weeks into the 2015 season and I'm finally getting back into the swing of things again, but I wasn't sure if Samantha was adjusting just yet- I think she's been coming down with something. All this week she's been kind of sluggish. She usually meets me at the gym at 7 am, but she's missed a couple of workouts this week and I would usually come home to find her hanging out on the couch. Something was wrong and I didn't know what I could do for her, the last time I saw her like this was after her mom passed away when she was 13- she didn't do much and I don't blame her, I would be depressed myself if I had just lost my mother and pretty much her only family.
Her good friend Tabitha said she acted distant like this when she was not eating and depressed back in New York- so I knew I had to make it a point to talk to her at some point about what was going on, maybe she was just missing me since during the season she doesn't see me all that much. I was officially concerned when I walked through the door after morning workouts and went upstairs to find her in bed still at 10 am. I crawled into the bed next to her and brushed the stray hairs out of her sleeping face. She blinked her eyes open and looked up at me while giving me a sleepy smile.
"Hi baby." she said in her tired, raspy voice.
"Hey, what are you still doing in bed? Are you feeling alright?" I asked gently, now rubbing my hands up and down her back.
"Actually no, I woke up this morning and felt so sick- so I decided I should just get a couple extra hours of sleep." It was as if her talking about being sick brought back the wave of nausea because her eyes shot open wide and she jumped out of bed and ran into the bathroom, slamming the door shut behind her. I went in there after to hold her golden blonde hair back for her while she heaved, not having anything in her stomach made it difficult to actually throw anything up. I was in pain just watching her.
"I think it was that sushi I ate last night with Ginger. We checked out that new place in Houston and I don't think that was such a good idea after all. I'll never eat sushi again." she mumbled into the toilet.
I couldn't help but chuckle at her, the poor thing seemed miserable, but I'm glad it's just a little food poisoning sickness. She'll feel better tomorrow, but for now I ran the bath for her while she brushed her teeth. I also ran down to the kitchens to grab her a mug of her favorite tea- peach with just a spoonful of honey- and some crackers to get something in her now super empty stomach.
When I walked back into the bathroom, she was still sitting on the floor next to the toilet- she was still gorgeous to me even when she was sick, but she really didn't look good. Her face was a pale with a shade of green to it, her hair was a mess on top of her head and she had on a wrinkly t-shirt of mine. I stood her up to face me, then slipped my hands under the shirt to slide it up and over her head so she stood naked in front of me. I picked her up and placed her in the warm, bubbly bath and watched as she leaned back and took a breath of relief.
"Thank you JJ, I needed this." she said while cupping the side of my face with her bubble covered hand.
I smiled down at her, "Anytime my love. I feel bad that I can't stay here and take care of you, but I have a meeting down at the stadium." I felt awful leaving her in this condition.
"It's alright, I already feel much better thanks to you. I understand you have work and I wouldn't ask you to skip it for me! I'll be fine and I'll see you in a couple of hours."
