**Samantha's POV**

The next day after being admitted to the hospital, I was being released. The doctor's kept me overnight just to be sure everything was okay. And thankfully it was, our little baby was perfectly healthy and nothing was wrong. JJ stayed by my side all night, holding my hand. When he thought I was sleeping, he even began gently rubbing my belly and talking to our baby. 

"Hey little one, you caused a big scene out here today. You had all of us worried about you and your mommy. Even your grandma is flying down here now to make sure you both are okay. You've still got 3 more months to hang out in there, so get comfy cause I don't want you to arrive early. Wait till we get back home to Wisconsin- you'll love growing up there." He talked for another 10 minutes or so and I didn't give away the fact that I was really awake the whole time listening- my heart melting at every word. 

The next morning he wheeled me out, hobbling behind me slightly. He broke the news to me that he was going to get surgery on Tuesday which I was so thankful that Connie was flying down here today to help out. She was heaven sent, that's for sure. I couldn't ask for a better mother-in-law. 

JJ was officially done with the 2015 season but we haven't left Houston just yet. We figured we might as well stay here before heading to all of the different post season events including the NFL Honors- but honestly, I was more anxious about finding out if we're having a little boy or little girl. As long as the baby was healthy at this point, I didn't really care. 

January 21, 2016...

I woke up, hugging the body pillow next to me. It was close to impossible to sleep for me since I am so used to sleeping on my stomach, but since I was now that I was 5 months pregnant- the only way I could comfortably sleep at night was to be hugging this stupid thing. I turned to face JJ's side of the bed and he was missing. It's been nice having him home with me since he's been recovering, so I was a little confused when I didn't see him sleeping there with me. 

I walked down to the kitchen, where I was greeted by tons of balloons, flowers and the smell of pancakes cooking. JJ stood there in front of the oven next to his mother, his father sitting down at the island, the size difference between the two made me smile- and his mom was taller than me. I could only imagine the laughs JJ and I got from others when we were walking next to each other. 

"Good morning." I said after clearing my throat to catch their attention. They spun around and smiled at me.

"Happy birthday!" they said simultaneously while coming over to give me a hug. 

Connie placed her hands on my belly, "I still cannot believe how tiny your belly is for saying you're 5 months. It must be a girl because when I was pregnant with this one, everyone asked me if I was pregnant with twins. I was huge." she looked over at JJ and he just gave her a sweet smile with his hands up in the air. 

"Don't jinx me! If you say that I'm going to pop out over night and then I'll be screwed when we go to the Honors in a couple weeks because I'll have to wear a potato sack." 

"Oh you would still look beautiful in a potato sack honey." JJ said kissing my cheek. 

"Speaking of getting chubby and eating for two- is that pancakes I smell?" I said with a smile on my face. 

"Banana pancakes. Exactly what you've been craving for the past couple of months." JJ said. We sat and ate all of our pancakes, just talking about everything. My birthday dinner tonight where we're going to find out what were having once and for all.
