I decided that I would try to avoid Luke at all costs.
Well, starting the next day because as I soon as we got back to the apartment, I received a text from him and couldn't help but reply. From: Luke Hemmings
Hey cutieTo: Luke Hemmings
Hi (:We texted back and forth for a bit, just asking questions about each other, before I finally fell asleep.
Surprisingly, the next morning I woke up on time.
I had enough time to eat breakfast and get ready without rushing myself.I drove the speed limit to work and when I pulled in, I walked at a normal pace inside the doors.
I had gotten to work right on time so I slipped on my apron and got to work.
About 20 minutes into working, I had already had about 30 customers.
We were having a very busy day, so that's the excuse that I used when Luke came in to ask when we were hanging out."We're too busy today, Luke. Maybe another time." I said without looking up at him.
"After work. Come on, please?" He begged once more and I wanted to give in, I really did.
But I didn't and it was for his own good.
I just ignored him as he stood off to the side of the counter while I took orders from customers. As soon as it starts dying down and I finally didn't have any customers lined up, Luke walked around to the front of the counter.
"Please?" He asked, pouting out his lower lip.
I simply pulled out my phone and ignored him.
"Well at least let me give you my number in case you change your mind." He sighed, exasperatedly. This struck up some confusion from me.
"But, I already have your number. Don't I?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.
"I don't know how you would've gotten it." He said, sounding just as confused as I was.
"You texted me first." I accused.
"No, I didn't." At first he looked extremely confused.
But then his faced turned from confusion, to realization, to shock.
"What's wrong?" I asked frantically, my heart beating faster.
"Nothing." He muttered and quickly walked out the door.
