"What? Who's the big man? And why does he want me?"
I asked, coming out from my hiding spot.
The curly headed boy's eyes widened and he other boy said, "Dang it. You weren't supposed to hear that."
"Tell me." I demanded, walking towards them.Luke guided us over to the couch in the living room and introduced me to both boys.
The curly headed one was Harry and the other was Louis.
"Well then, Louis. Spill." I insisted and he sighed.
"Okay, well, the big man is our boss. You know, the man over everything. But, I don't know exactly who he is because-" Louis began, but I cut him off saying, "You've never seen him. Luke has told me that story before. Why does he want me? Why me?"
Louis chuckled and said, "You're quite the sassy one, aren't you love?"
I just rolled my eyes and gave him a little smile before urging him to answer my question.
"That, I have no clue. Maybe he found out that Luke told you everything?"
"That's impossible. How would he have figured that out?" Luke quickly interjected.
"I have no idea, but I think it's good if you stay out of public as much as possible. He could've hired anyone to hunt you down."
Harry finally spoke up, but seems sort of timid.
He must be shy, he doesn't talk much.
"Stay out of public? I can't do that! I have to work and I a social life."
They're crazy. I can't just drop my whole life because some drug dealer is after me.
"I'm sorry, love. But, your probably going to have to lose the social life for now. And about work, you'll either have to quit or be escorted by one of us each day." Louis said, giving me a reassuring smile.
I groaned leaning back against the couch.
"You guys could come stay with the boys and I at the cabin for a while. I don't think they'll mind." Louis suggested, turning to Harry for his input.
"Yeah, I think that would be fun." Harry smiled.
"Okay, well I'll talk to Liam and Niall about it and get back to you guys." Louis said, standing and walking towards the door, Harry following closely behind.
"Take care of yourselves!" Louis yelled before closing the door behind him. When the boys left, Luke and I sat in silence for a while before he spoke up.
"This is all my fault. I should've never even dragged you into all of this. If it weren't for me, you'd be safe. You could actually have a life." Luke said, lowering his head down into his hands.
"Hey, hey, hey, this isn't your fault, Luke." I assured him, crouching down in front of him and pulling his hands away from his face.
I held one of his hands in mine and used my other hand to lift his chin up so he would look at me.
"If you never dragged me into this, then I never would've met you and I wouldn't be this happy."
I smiled, kissing him softly on the cheek, making a smile slowly appear on his plump lips.
"You, Claire Edwards, are amazing." Luke declared, his lips finding mine once more.Louis had texted Luke a couple hours after he left and told him that the boys had said it was fine for us to stay with them and that they were actually quite excited. He said that we could come as soon as possible, so we started packing right away.
We weren't really sure how long we would be there, so we decided to just pack a bag full of clothes each and figured we could come back if we needed more.
Luke quickly packed his bag and then took me over to my apartment to get mine.
I knew I would have to face Becca and try to come up with an excuse as to why I would be leaving for so long and where I'd be going. But, it wasn't as hard as I had first thought it would be. I just told her that I was going to stay with Luke for a while, considering that she doesn't know where he lives, because he was having some family issues and I wanted to comfort him.
I really hated lying to Becca, but I really didn't have much of a choice because she cannot get mixed up in all of this.
I could never forgive myself if Becca got hurt because of me. So, I had to hide this from her in order to keep her safe. This is all for her own good. I just have to keep repeating this to myself and maybe it will convince me that I did the right thing.
When we arrive at the boys' house, Luke and I both hop out if the car and grab our bags. Their house was beautiful. It was an old victorian style house that looked like it's been around for ages, but had been well taken care of.
It was a off white color and had a balcony looking over a small lake at the side of the house. There seemed to be no houses even close to theirs, so that means no neighbors.
Another good thing about this house; its in the middle of no where and if you don't know where your going, this place would be impossible to find.
Luke tries to reach for my bag as we walk to the door, but I smile at him and interlace our free hands instead.
We reach the door and Luke knocks. We are greeted with a cheeky boy who I know by the name of Harry.
"Hey, we've been waiting for you guys." Harry smiles and ushers us inside.
This inside of their house is just as beautiful as the outside.
It has a cozy little feel to it with the wooden boards for walls and floorboards, along with the fire place at the front of the room. The rest of the boys were scattered around the room, lounging on a couch or chair.
Louis was stretched out on a couch in front of the television, Niall was sitting in a recliner in the far corner, typing away on his phone, Liam sat on a smaller couch that was by the window with a book in his hands, and Harry took our bags for us and said that he would bring them up to our room.
As soon as Harry said that, all the boys' heads snapped in our direction and smiled at us. Louis was the first to jump up and envelope me in a hug, all of the other boys followed suit.
After they hugged me, they all hugged Luke (except for Louis. He and Luke did some sort of hand shake that looked way to complicated in my opinion).
"What do you guys want to eat? I'm ordering takeout." Niall said, his face holding a bright smile.
"Of course you are." Louis muttered just loud enough that Niall heard him.
Niall just flipped him the bird and looked back at us, waiting for our answer.
When we didn't say anything, he said "How about pizza?"
"Pizza sounds good to me." I said and Luke agreed. So about 20 minutes later, the pizza had been delivered and we were all seated in the boys' living room devouring it.
And let me tell you, they were quite surprised when they saw how much I could eat. Since there was 6 of us, Niall ordered 2 pizzas and I are just about as much as all the boys did.
Well, everyone but Niall. No one ate as much as Niall.
When the last slice was finished, everyone started retreating to their rooms to call it a night which left just Luke, Harry, and I still seated in the living room.
"Well I think I'm going to hit the sack too." Harry yawned, looking over at us once more to say, "I hope you guys don't mind sharing a bed, we only had one spare room."
"Nope, that's perfectly fine." Luke smirked, looking at me from the corner of his eye.
Harry caught Luke's expression and chuckled, "It's the last room on the right. The one with the light on, not too hard to find." Harry said and then he was gone.
Luke and I didn't stay up too much longer before finally deciding to go to bed too.
We got ready for bed and just as we were both abou to slip into the comfy bed I said, "Hey Luke, I don't know if I wanna sleep with you. You smell funny."
My lips turned up into a smirk and he knew I was teasing him the moment he saw my face.
"I really wish they had another spare bedroom." I made a fake annoyed expression and Luke chuckled.
"Oh please, Princess. You would have ended up in bed with me even if there were 10 spare bedrooms." He said cockily, tugging me gently into his arms, causing me to smile the brightest I ever have.
"Your right, Lukey. I just can't stay away from you." I said, turning around to face him. He smiled at me and I poked his dimple, causing him to chuckle and pull me closer to him (if that's even possible).
"Sleep tight, angel." Was the last thing I heard before falling into a peaceful sleep and dreaming of Luke all through the night.
