A/N:
I am SOOOOO sorry that it is taking me SO long to update but I've been extremely busy and stuff. I'm trying to write as often as possible, but until my schedule loosens up a bit, they won't be that often but I'm trying, I swear!❤️______________________
I couldn't believe it and I definitely couldn't bear to see Luke in such close proximity to this girl that I despise.
I quickly turned to Penny before Luke and Jasmine had reached the register. "Can you please, please, please, take their order?"
When she looked over to who was standing, waiting for their order to be taken, she gave me a knowing look. "Of course I will"
"Hello! We need some service over here!" Jasmine's annoying, high pitched voice sounded from behind me.
She knew that I worked here. She brought Luke here on purpose. But, obviously she wanted to create a scene because when I began walking towards the back to get out of sight she said, "Claire is that you?"
I mentally ripped her hair out and turned to face her.
I gave her a fake smile and managed to say, "Yup, It's me."
She looked up to Luke with a smirk on her lips. Even though she knew that Luke and I had been close here lately, she still said to him, "Luke this is my sister, Claire. Claire, this is my boyfriend, Luke."
Luke's eyes went wide and looked at me and said, "Sister?"
I rolled my eyes at Jasmine's awful acting skills. She could never pursue a job as an actor.
With an annoyed look on my face, I said, "Jasmine, we aren't sisters. Our parents are just dating."
"You didn't hear the news?" She said, a glint of misteif in her eyes.
I gritted my teeth, "What news?"
"I should probably wait for dad and mom to tell you." She said and then a second later added, "Oh I just can't hold it in. My dad and your mom are getting married!" She squealed but I could see the obvious smirk on her lips.
"That's great." I said, trying to hide the terror etched onto my face.
She gave me a smile that seemed to mock me. Mock me because she stole Luke right from my grasp; even though he was never really mine to begin with, because our parents are getting married, and most of all because I was going to be related to the likes of her. She probably thought I should feel honored. Honored to soon have a sister as pretty and amazing as herself because heaven knows that's how she thinks of herself.
But I definitely wasn't. I was dreading having her at all of my family reunions, having to see her all the time. I couldn't stand being around her for 5 seconds, much less every time I go to visit my mother.
I know Jasmine probably isn't going to be living there, she probably has some five star penthouse. The little brat gets whatever she wants. But, she will probably be there often visiting her daddy. Probably just asking him to buy something for her but either way, she'll be there.
"Well, I should probably go and do the stuff, uh, the stuff that I told that person I would, uh, do."
"Okay, sis, see you later." She smirked as I basically ran to the door leading to the back room. I got into the small back room and closed the door, pressing my back against it and sliding to the floor.
I can't believe him. I cannot believe Luke. Why would he do this to me? I was just beginning to like him and I thought he liked me too but now he's dating my sister. Well, my almost sister. I mean, I know he didn't know she was my almost sister until now, but still. He knew that I worked here and he brought her to this exact place anyway.
But, I'm not going to cry over him. I did really, really like him but if this is how he's going to be then so be it. I can do better than him anyway, might as well stop it before it starts. But, in order to stop being the big baby I'm acting to be, I need to get out of this stupid room and back out there to do my job. Although, I did feel a bit mischievious today and I know Luke acted as if he didn't like Michael too well the first time he saw me with him.
So, I did what any other insane girl would do, even though she doesn't know if the outcome would be good or terribly bad because, honestly, I don't think I'm exactly thinking this through. But also, I don't really think I care. I pulled out my phone with the biggest smirk plastered across my face and called Michael.
I hadn't been back here long, so I know Luke and Jasmine probably haven't left yet. Jasmine probably wants to wait until I come out so she can rub Luke in my face.
I lifted the phone to my ear and it rang and rang and rang. Until, finally, I heard Michael's sleepy voice through the phone. And it was hot. Not as hot as Luke, though. Luke's morning voice sounds sexy mixed with adorable and- Oh Claire, shut up! I shouldn't even be thinking of him.
"Hey Mikey." I greeted him.
"Oh, hey Claire." He said, perking up a bit.
"Wanna have lunch? My break is in 5 minutes." I asked, hoping he didn't have other plans.
"Well, a little late notice." He chuckled and I just knew he was going to say no. But then he surprised me by saying, "Yeah, love, I'll be right there."
I waited in a booth for Michael to arrive and to my surprise, he was actually here within 5 minutes.
I could see Luke glancing back at me every once and a while, probably wondering who I was waiting for.But when he saw Michael walk through the door, his fists clenched and his jaw tensed up.
I smirked to myself and stood to greet Michael.Michael walked up to the table, shooting me a wink and being his cheeky self.
I smiled at his actions and wrapped my arms around him in a hug.
"Hi." I murmured.
I knew this was wrong; using Michael to make Luke jealous. But I just couldn't help myself.
He squeezed me back and pecked my cheek.I expected Luke to be a little angry at that action, but I did not expect what he actually did.
After Michael pecked my cheek, I was yanked away from him and into Luke's arms.
"If you ever touch her again, you will regret it." He growled in Michael's face.
