When we awoke the next morning, Louis was in the kitchen cooking breakfast and Liam was trying to get the other two boys to wake up.
"Harry, you can't just sleep all day. You have to wake up." Liam groaned as Luke and I walked past the cheeky boy's room.
"I don't wanna." Harry whined, snuggling further into his sheets.
Luke and I walked into the kitchen and were suddenly hit with an amazing aroma.
"Woah, Lou. You can cook." Luke gasped, sniffing the air.
Louis chuckled and said, "Smells good, yeah?"
Just then, the other two boys bounded down the stairs, with Liam following behind them.
"Louis William Tomlinson, are you making pancakes?" Harry yelled as he descended the last step.
"Yeah. Are you guys hungry?" Louis laughed, already knowing the answer.
"Um, yes. I'm always hungry." Niall announced, looking around sheepishly after he did, as if he didn't mean to say it aloud.
"Yeah, we know.." Harry smirked, earning a glare and whack to the head from Niall.
"Oi!" Harry whined, rubbing his head and pouting at Niall.
Louis finished the pancakes and placed a couple on everyone else's plate, then lastly, putting a couple on his and sitting down.
"So, Claire. You ready for today?" Liam asked, smirking in my direction.
My forehead creased and my eye brows furrowed at his question.
What was going on today that I'm supposed to be ready for?
"What's today?" I questioned, completely confused on what he was talking about.
"You haven't told her yet?" Liam asked, this time directing his question to Luke.
I turned to Luke with a raised brow. He didn't tell me what?
"Didn't really get around to it." Luke laughed while stuffing his face with pancakes. After he swallowed he gave me an adorable smile that said 'Sorry?'
I rolled my eyes at him, but I couldn't help that smile on my lips.
"We want to teach you to fight today." Louis stated, tearing my eyes from Luke's as the words left his mouth.
"You want to teach me to what now?" I inquired, my voice sounding sightly stunned.
"To fight." Luke cut in, "Just some basic moves. Y'know, in case one of those idiots come at you again and you don't have one of us there to help you. Then, you can put up a fair fight."
"Okay.." I agreed, "Yeah. That would probably make me feel a little better about all of this."
The boys smiled at me before putting all of their attention back towards their pancakes."Okay, so just make sure you don't tuck your thumb inside your fingers. If you tuck it inside, it could break your thumb. Squeeze it on the outside of our fingers. Right here, on the front." Louis tells me, placing my fingers for me.
The boys' backyard was impressive, they had punching bags up around the yard and several obstacle courses set up.
Louis was currently teaching me how to throw a punch.
Luke was watching with a smile, I think he likes the idea of me being able to protect myself.
"You can go and try it on that punching bag. I think you're ready." Louis directed me over to the closest bag.
"I think I wanna try it on Luke." I joked and Luke smirked at me.
"Fire away. S'not like it'll hurt." He smirked.
"Stop bantering with my student." Louis groaned.
Luke and I laughed, then I walked over to the punching bag.
"Don't strain yourself, princess!" Luke called from where he stood with Louis.
"Shut it!" I yelled back, before locking my gaze on the punching bag.
I took a deep breath and clenched my fist like Louis taught me, then I smacked my fist right into the bag.
I made sure to use the exact swing motion that Louis showed me and it was deemed a success as the bag flew upwards at the impact.
I heard several gasps from around me and when I turned around, everyone was staring at me with wide eyes.
"What?" I asked innocently, totally confused as to why their all looking at me like that.
"Have you ever punched anyone before?" Harry asked as all of the boys started approaching me.
"Um, no..not that I remember. Why?"
"Because your a natural. You probably punch better than Niall." Louis cut in, earning a grunt from the Irish boy.
"Really? It didn't seem like I did all that good."
I honestly didn't understand what was so great about it. I mean, yeah I had to have hit the bag pretty hard for it to fly up so far but still.
"You had great form, great strength, and you didn't waver." Liam informed me.
"I didn't waver? What's that mean?"
"It means that you didn't second guess yourself. You went for the punch and didn't back down or get nervous. You didn't start to do it and then back out last minute."
I really didn't understand how that punch was so great. Maybe that's just the best punch they've seen come from a girl, that would make more sense.Louis taught me a few more things, then he told me we were done for the day and we would continue tomorrow.
"Thank goodness. I need a rest." I sighed and all the boys laughed as they followed me inside.
Training continued as scheduled for a month straight. We had no interruptions, no attacks. It didn't even seem like anyone knew Luke and I were staying with these boys.
But, I couldn't deny he nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach when I considered them finding us.
No one has made an appearance, but something just doesn't seem right.
