"psst..."

She glanced on her shoulder, there was a small folded paper handed to her. She frowned, taking it in her hands. Madam Laurel was writing on the board, so she quietly unfolded the paper. She knew this handwriting.

-r u ok?

She nodded a little, too lazy to answer that small note. She continued copying the notes, despite feeling sleepy and tired. Heck, she could barely see what was written on the board, she could barely understood what she had written on her notebook. Everything seems blurry suddenly before the whole world around her turned black.

"Elis?"

"Hey, Elis,"

"Elis, wake-"

"Madam!"

"Take her to the nurse!"

***

"Urgh..."

The blinding light made her head throbbed incessantly, she had to blink a few times to get used to the light that was a bit too bright for her own liking.

Where the hell am I?

"Hey, take it easy."

She frowned.

"The nurse said you are just exhausted, just take a rest."

She looked around her and sighed. "Did I blacked out in the class?"

"And bleeding."

She snapped her head to watch him, if he was serious or just joking because-

"You were bleeding a lot. Uh, your nose." Zach confirmed his statement. And he was serious and also worried. Why would he be worried?

He poured her some water in a glass, and handed it to her. "Here, drink some."

She hesitantly took the glass without touching his hand, and slowly drank the plain water. It felt good feeling the cold flowing in her throat. She sighed contentedly. "Thanks."

"Don't you have classes or something?"

"Uh, the school ended two hours ago." he spoke awkwardly but he still tried to play it out casually. He was such a nerd and he didn't even realise it.

Elis nodded a bit. She remembered that she wanted to stay back and she would call her mom when she wanted to go back. "Then, how long have I been here?"

He paused for a second, taking his time thinking. "A while...?"

She quirked an eyebrow. "Be precise, please?"

He sighed reluctantly. "Since Chemistry."

Oh shit. So she's been here for like, the whole day?

"I need to call my mom." She turned to the table besides the bed, she didn't know what she was expecting but she was sure she didn't thought that, her bag was of course wasn't with her. She could feel his stare behind her and she just had to turn around and face him which of course -again, the atmosphere falls a bit too heavy with awkwardness in which Elis was certain that it would rise another degree.

"I kinda... don't have my bag with me...?" she said slowly and forced a smile.

"Oh, I'm sorry," he blinked as if realised something and spun to pull her bag behind him. He handed it to her with a guilty smile. "Here."

"Thanks," Elis took the bag from him and unzip the bag.

"Though, you know, I can drive you home if that's okay?" He asked while Elis was rummaging through her bag to find her phone. She looked at him in the eye not believing his words. "Wait a minute," she dialed her mom's number and immediately her mom answered.
