Drowning, beside you

Where I'll be to remind you

We're still first in line for

The front row of last resorts

One last ditch and new beginnings

So take this heart put yourself in it

This surprise ending I'm depending on

I got a long term plan with short term fixes

And a wasted heart to catch eclipses

And I push my luck and trust the dust enough

That's the story of another us

One last ditch and new beginnings

So take this heart, put yourself in it

This surprise ending I'm depending on

Be the story of another us

The story of another us

Could be story of another us.

//5sos - story of another us.

Counting steps on the stairs, exchanging glances and erupting small laughs in the middle of the night. They didn't want to take the elevator, purposely taking the stairs to Elis and Colton's apartment on the fifth floor. When they get closer to her apartment, she stopped in her tracks abruptly, taking sharp intake of breath.

"Wait outside. Come in when you think it's right." Elis whispered, motioning to him to wait on the doorstep. Zach frowned a bit but he did not say a word. He listened to her words because it was her place and he shouldn't intrude the thing going on between her and Colton, their marriage of 15 years. But, like Elis said, Zach will get in when he was supposed to. When he was allowed to.

Elis stepped in cautiously, kicking off her sandals on the doorstep. She hanged her coat on the wall and puts the food pack on the counter top, straining her ears to listen to some faint noises she heard from somewhere.

"Colton?" she called out, pushing the slightly ajar door of their room. The bed looked unkempt, but Colton wasn't there. He wasn't even in the lounge or even in the kitchen. She even checked the bathroom, it was unlock, so it was safe to assume he wasn't in there. But she could hear noises, it got louder when she got near to the guestroom.

Her heart started to beat abnormally fast, anticipation creep on her skin like needles. She didn't want to open the door, but curiosity killed her. Carefully, she pushed the door wide open, her mouth agape and eyes blown wide. A breath stuck on her throat as her heart skipped a beat in all the wrong ways.

"Colton," she croaked out painfully as the girl on him screamed loudly humping on him. Colton pulled her in his arms, his eyes flashed when he noticed Elis in the doorway. He lets out a grunt and moaned breathlessly, gripping her waist tightly.

They were quiet for a moment as the girl plopped besides him, not even taking a glance back. Colton talked softly to her that made her looked up. Her hair was a mess, sticking everywhere as she stumbled from the shock. She quickly puts on her clothes and left, not saying a word. Elis couldn't careless about the woman, she was enraged but she had to keep it down, for now.

It was a different kind of pain, because it definitely not out of blind jealousy but more of the form of true betrayal. The way it cuts her, it crushed her whole being into ashes she doubt she could be molded back into a decent being that she was.

Her eyes stung, but she couldn't let the tears escape her eyes even though she felt crying was a good option in this kind of situation. But a part of her refused to let the tears rolled down her cheeks that she bit the insides of her cheeks, hating herself that she let this kind of thing to happen. Although she knew too well, she had tried so hard to do everything in her power to let either of them to give up.
