"This is crazy." Colton declared right after he brought the car to a stop in front of Elis' house.

Elis laughed lightly. "I am crazy." she confirmed.

"No- I mean, yeah, you definitely are, but- you know what I mean?" he looked at Elis, eyes wide. He was awfully anxious and nervous, he didn't even know why. He wasn't supposed to agree of that plan in the first place, but he agreed wholly. He couldn't make himself worry that Lily was mad at him for not saying anything and indirectly agreed to Elis. Thankfully, she was rational enough to talk about it, to reason with Elis.

"I dunno. It just... I think it was the right thing to do. Not because I feel obliged or something like that..." she trailed off and shrugged. "It's just- it feels right." this time she smiled to Colton, the soft smile she seldom wore.

It made his heart skipped a beat, he faintly blushed and looked away, flustered.  He inhaled deeply and sighed. He need to talk about it to Elis, he didn't want her to regret her decision. he also didn't want to get hurt. "It's clearly a wrong decision, Elis." he tried even though he was breaking his own heart, but the reason he tried to make Elis realise about her ridiculous choice, was because he loves Elis and he didn't want to hurt her nor did he want to hurt Zach.

"I don't know what is wrong and what is rightfully right, now. I am human. I don't care about what fate decides for me, or some destiny shit. It's not that I am against it or something, I am grateful actually. But that's the thing with humans, they have curiosity and some even went great measures to live against what was written for them although in the end, they will eventually turn back to it. That's why I choose to want to be in love with you." Elis explained, looking at Colton.

Colton didn't reply, he couldn't look at Elis. He knew that his word back fired to him. But he couldn't accept it because Elis was made for Zach, and he messed up by falling in love. It was so cheesy, he hated himself but he just couldn't help it.

"Hey, Colton?" Elis called softly.

His finger tapped the steering furiously, a deep frown on his forehead, his lips in a thin line. She could see it on the reflection of the glass window by the driver's seat.

"Look at me." she coaxed him gently, putting a hand on his shoulder.

He shuddered, holding his breath then he turned his head to her. Elis grinned. She actually grinned like it was some win for her that he listened to her without arguing.

"Listen, okay? I don't know how long I'll live, but what I do believe, right now, I am feeling oddly confident about this and I don't even know how it would turn out but I am giddy about this." she said, patting his shoulder for reassurance.

He sighed. "I think you should think again about this and what we've- well, Lily- told you about this."

Elis paused. She might reconsider and think more deeply about it, possibly talk it out with Zach in which she will -without doubt- hurting him in the process. Elis automatically winced, the sudden pain shoot through her when she thought about Zach, her chest constricted. Elis lets out a long exhale. Elis gathered herself and opened the door.

"See you soon." she said and closed the door. She walked up towards the door and unlock it, then she walked into the house. Not once she spare a glance back.

Elis hugged her legs close to her chest, staring intently at the phone at the tip of her toe. She has been contemplating to call Zach for almost an hour, she didn't realise how long has it been.
