MARY
The lady keeps trying to ask me questions but I don't budge. Well, if you don't include a few more pointless punches. She gets out the walkie-talkie that I remember the man who escorted us in had, (I have learned that his name is Jack) and says something into it. The door opens and I run out. It's in a hallway, and eventually 2 guards grab me by each arm and lift me to carry me away. I grab ones arm and squeeze with all my might, and he screams and backs off. I am now dangling from one arm so I quickly turn around and kick the other guard in the leg. He looses his balance and falls on me, but I lift him up and throw him to the wall. He screams for a second then passes out, or dies but I don't really mind either or. The first guard chases after me as I run down the hallway in superspeed. When he gets to me, I throw my arm out for a punch and he dodges it. He shoots lasers out of his eyes and onto my arm. AGHHH!! The pain slowly increases and I want to hold it and sit down and scream, but I know I can't do that right now. I punch with my wrong arm and he goes flying down the hallway, so I run as fast as I can until I reach the end of the hallway. Once I do, I find the exit and run outside. Ohhh! It's so cold! I wish I had a jacket. I run to my house and lift up my sleeve to look at my wound. It stings and burns!! I look and see two medium sized black circles with dark red outline. I run my fingers under cold water, knowing this will sting. I lightly dab it on my burns. Gaaahhh!!! The pain rushes all across my body, and relief soon after. I continue to do this, and soon, it doesn't burn nearly as much. I sit on my bed and think about what to do. I want tell some adult here, but I trust none of them, except for our parents, but I fear they won't tell us the truth. I guess I can tell Macken.... Oh, right. I'll, I'll just tell Emily.EMILY
"What?!"
"Yeah! Then I had to see this!" Mary said, as she pulled up her sleeve and showed me two black circles.
"Ohhh! That hurt! I say. "It looks bad. Maybe you should go to the clinic."
"No, what if they ask what happened?"
"Ever heard of lying, Sherlock?" She makes a half-frown and rolls her eyes. Then, she gets up to the sink, I'm guessing to wash it of with water for the billionth time. "Hey, didn't you say he had superspeed?"
"Yeah." She replied, as if she was suddenly tired of telling the story.
"And he had lasers?" The constant sound of running water stops, and she turns to me with a towel on her shoulder.
"Yeah..." How did he have two powers? I thought only we had two. Jack only has one. Mom and dad only have one. So does everyone else I know except for Mackenzie and myself. Then I have an idea. I spring up and reach under my bed. "What are you doing?" Asks Mary. I reach around until I find the scroll. I take it to the bed and roll it out. I see a picture of James (I'm guessing he's James, because he looks like he's in an evil layer)
"He has body guards next to him. And look, it says, "he took the power out of people he controlled and gave them to himself and to his body guards."
"Well, if they're James bodyguards, why are they here? How did they get here?" Mary says. My eyes widen as I throw down the prophecy and run outside to the training center. I always forget a jacket! I run down the long hallways and find Amanda.MACKENZIE
The van stops moving and the people up front climb back to us and give us blindfolds and another shot. This time when I wake up, I am lying on a hospital bed hooked up to all sorts of things. My legs are chained down along with my waist and arms. Where am I? I look around the room, wondering if I was hurt in some sort of battle or something. The walls are all white, and there are large tubes all over the place. There are monitors and a desk covered messily in papers which I secretly wish I could fix. Someone comes in the thick double doors that I didn't notice earlier. He is tall, with black, curly hair. He has the darkest black eyes I have ever seen, like there is nothing in him. Just cold, frozen darkness.
"Good..." He looks at the clock. "Evening sleeping beauty." He gives me a wicked smile. A lift up my arm and try to zap him but the electricity only goes out a few inches. "How dumb, exactly, do you think I am?" He asks me as he tilts his head to the side and walks slowly closer to me. Why isn't this working?!?! I zap the chains and nothing happens, I zap and zap, but I only get weaker. I then remember that I can I fly, so I try to lift up out of this bed. I can only fly up a few inches and I'm outta breath, so I plonk back on the bed. "I'm not going to come into this room with the all powerful Mackenzie if I know she is going to hurt me. By the way, the more you struggle, the quicker these tubes steal your powers from you."
