MACKENZIE
Emma runs away from me, down the hall holding the gun. She bursts open the doors, I hear Emily scream, and I want it to stop. I hear the tearing of duct tape, and someone bursting through the back doors. Gunshot. Bang, then gunshot after gunshot why won't it stop??!. I try to get up, but only crawl a few feet before laying down again. Blood is smeared across the floor, and I want to vomit.
There are loud crashes, and a few words I can hear being screamed.
The world starts to spin, and I see a figure run up to me.
"Ma- Mary? I- I missed you." I say before everything goes black. Everything quiets down, and the last thing I heard was a simple, quiet, "sorry".
--------------------------
I wake up, I don't know how long later, with a woman holding her right hand on my forehead and her left on her temple. I look around, and see only what's important: I'm not bleeding. So, I squirm from the lady and run out of the room, to find myself in the hallway. I quickly run like there's no tomorrow to the end of the hall before the lady catches me. I open the door to see Mary grab a jacket off the floor and yell, "EMILY!"
I sprint past Mary, through the open back doors, to see the ship I came here on, leave. I keep running, because I can't stop. I run underneath it, because if I don't stop running, I'll be there when it lands.
I hope it stops soon.
"Mackenzie?!" I hear someone yell. I don't stop, the voice doesn't matter. I keep running, almost hitting trees because I'm looking up in the sky. It's getting so far away.
"Mack! Stop! Slow... down.... stop running!" Mary eventually catches up to me and grabs me by the shoulders. "Calm down!"
"No!" I refuse. "Let go of me! I have to go get Emily!" I squirm and get out of her grasp for a second, only for her to grab me again and use her strength to keep hold of me.
"What are you doing?! You can't catch that!" She says, breathing heavily and looking me straight in the eyes.
"Yes I can! If you just let go!" I squirm, wanting her to let go so bad. Why won't she let me go?
"Calm down, babe. Breath." I focus on my breathing, almost hyperventilating. Soon, I calm down, and she lets go. I think about making a run for it, but there's no point. The whole scene would just play over again, and Mary would think I'm a psychopath.
"So then what? What are we gonna do? We gotta go something." I'm looking her in the eyes. She looks scared. I've never seen her like this.
"Let's go find Jack." She says. She lets go of me, and runs her fingers through her hair.
We walk back into the building, the room we were in has dents all over the walls. There's a desk with a large crack and papers laying all over it. Tubes and goo are laid out everywhere. Even part of the roof has fallen down.
I start to think about what is going on, but I get a head ache and decide to stop. I need to calm down more.
We walk past the blood on the floor, past many, many doors, untill a man is fast walking through the hall.
"Jack!" Mary calls out. He walks over to us, and smiles.
"Mackenzie! So glad you made it back! I think your friends were very excited to see you, there was A LOT of noise down here." He says with another smile. Not the brightest.
Mary face palms. "No, that was an attack. Emma captured Emily and tried to shoot us and now Emily is on a ship flying to somewhere in Alasï."
Jacks eyes widen. "Oh, um... I'm so sorry, uh... Here. Let me go on my computer, I put a tracker in her neck, too."
He rushes down the hall and into his office/lab thing. He looks at the big mess, and whispers something under his breath. He continues to his desk, where he finds his computer, with a cracked screen. I hear typing, then suddenly, a 3-D globe pops up and shows a red dot, where Emily is.
"She's not too far, so if we get in a ship now, we might be able to at least follow her." He says.
Mary picks me up and says, simply, "fly", so I do.
